Yahoo! Telemundo today announced its Top 10 Searches for the month ending September 30, which include the Top 10 in overall searches and image searches as established by the millions of Yahoo! Telemundo users.

10. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)The month of September sparked searches for a hit telenovela, sultry female celebrities, a weather phenomenon as well as a couple of health topics by Yahoo! Telemundo users. The runaway Telemundo sensation “Sin Senos no Hay Paraíso” (Without Breasts, There is no Paradise) continued to place high on the most searched list as followers of this intriguing storyline can’t get enough of its plot-twisting episodes and phenomenal cast. The drama in the tropics also attracted attention as users searched for information on one of the biggest storms in history. With maximum sustained winds of 145 mph, Hurricane Ike became the most intense storm of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season thus far. Interest in this storm peaked as it made landfall in Texas as a category 2 hurricane.
Celebrities also made their mark on this month’s Top Ten list. Jennifer Lopez made the list again as fans tracked her performance at the Malibu Triathlon just months after giving birth to her twins and then followed her cross- country trip to celebrate husband Marc Anthony’s birthday in New York that same night with a group of A-list friends. Controversial Cuban actress Niurka Marcos also made the list as her third husband was reportedly caught by a paparazzi video camera kissing another woman and several news shows reported that she wanted nothing to do with him. Rounding off the female beauties in the overall searches for September is reality-TV star Kim Kardashian who signed up to participate in the ABC hit show “Dancing with the Stars” and was an instant fan favorite. In addition, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Weightloss diets were health topics that were of interest to Yahoo! Telemundo users last month.

Lindsay Lohan also continued to peak users’ interest as some sources confirmed her relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson. Aracely Arambula made the list once again as news about her second pregnancy, with boyfriend Luis Miguel, exploded in the media. In addition to beautiful women, Yahoo! Telemundo users were also interested in artistic images, including tattoos, which made the list for the third month in a row, and PC wallpaper backgrounds.

Telemundo today announced its Top 10 Searches for the month ending August 31 (yahootelemundo.com/lomasbuscado), which include the Top 10 in overall searches, and image searches as established by the millions of Yahoo! Telemundo users, as well as the most searched for in Sports for the month of August, as the 2008 Summer Olympics came to an end.

Apparently the 22-year-old Venezuelan beauty crowned just last month has been caught up in a scandal after nude modeling photos of her were unearthed, causing an online frenzy of curious viewers. Coming in at the number two spot was the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing; one of the biggest, most watched events on a global scale with a record-breaking number of viewers, as athletes from around the world compete for the gold. It is no surprise then that Russian pole vaulting sensation Yelena Isinbayeva was among the most searched for as she made a new world record and won the gold. Also topping the list was comedian Bernie Mac, who unexpectedly died last month at age 50 of complications from pneumonia. Rounding off the Top Searches was the Electronic Cigarette — mechatronic version of a cigarette that provides small amounts nicotine with each inhalation and is being marketed as a healthier alternative to tobacco smoking - although the science and medical community remain skeptical.

World renowned Colombian beauties, Sofia Vergara and Shakira also topped the list as did Mexican actresses Salma Hayek and Dulce Maria, known for her telenovelas and being a member of Spanish pop-rock group RBD. Surprisingly, tattoos remained popular throughout the month of August as it nabbed the No. 2 spot (down from No. 1 in July) - tattoos have experienced a resurgence in popularity in many parts of the world, and the American Academy of Dermatology estimate that 1 in 4 Americans have at least one tattoo.

Eighteen year old, Romanian gymnastic Gold Medal winner Sandra Izabasa came in at No.5 and was followed by an impressive list of female Olympians: Russian-American gymnast Nastia Liukin, the 2008 Olympic individual all-around gold medalist; American swimmer Amanda Beard and Mexican runner Paola Espinosa.
