“¡Sorpresa! announced today that it has selected the short film “Eyes and Ears” as one of the five finalists for the ¡Sorpresa! Youth Film Competition, a part of the 15th Anniversary Hamptons International Film Festival to be held October 17th – 21st, 2007. The ¡Sorpresa! Youth Film Competition is a new signature program developed by ¡Sorpresa! and the Hamptons International Film Festival’s Youth Media Program. The competition commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month and was launched in August for youth ages 6 to 17.

The film “Eyes and Ears” celebrates the role that the producer, Ms. Karla Gallardo, played as a child in serving as the “eyes and ears” for her parents that weren’t familiar with the language or the culture that Ms. Gallardo was born into. As Mexican immigrants, she chronicles the impressions and the perceptions that her family had of San Francisco. Serving as translator and English tutor for her parents had its benefits but she also recognized the importance this had on her becoming self-sufficient at a very young age.

“I wanted to share my experience helping my immigrant parents adjust to life in San Francisco and how their struggle created a new role for me as a child,” stated Ms. Gallardo. “I also wanted others who have similar experiences to know that they are not alone,” she added. “For those not familiar with the issues of language and culture, they too, can gain some insights from my film.”

“This film demonstrates the strong connection our viewers have with the experiences of their parents as they adjust to life in the U.S.,” commented Maria Badillo, ¡Sorpresa! V.P. of Programming. “Through this competition, ¡Sorpresa! is providing the members of our digital community an ideal platform for celebrating their unique experiences in America.”

“Juniper Content Corporation’s (OTCBB: JNPC; “Juniper”) Sorpresa! network and CNN en Español announced today the renewal of their partnership agreement for co-production of the children’s-focused weekend news segment Qué Pasa? The segment, launched in November 2006, is hosted by CNN en Español weekend primetime news anchor Claudia Palacios and is specifically tailored for Hispanic children ages 6 to 12 years old.

In addition to relaying news and topical information, Qué Pasa? features segments based on questions posed by viewers about current events, sports, weather, health, money, entertainment, science and technology. Qué Pasa? has received enthusiastic viewer and community support. In March, for example, Qué Pasa? tapped the inquisitive minds of 5th graders at Manuel Jara Elementary in Fort Worth, Texas for news program questions.

“Together we have succeeded in reaching an untapped audience genuinely interested and curious about daily news topics,” said Leonard Firestone, Sorpresa! COO. “Our continued partnership with CNN en Español allows us to deliver unparalleled news and information programming while offering more robust digital services to the Nation’s fastest growing audience segment.”

CNN en Español’s extension of the agreement allows Sorpresa! to continue building its distribution of Qué Pasa?, as well as growing the brand recognition of the program among its online community through sorpresatv.com. Sorpresa! viewers will be able to search the program archives for topics of interest and submit user questions for community comment and potential inclusion on future program segments.

“Our partnership with Sorpresa! has allowed CNN en Español to provide a valuable public service and reach a highly-coveted segment of Hispanic viewers while delivering news content that kids crave – and help to generate,” said Christopher Crommett, Senior Vice President of CNN en Español. “Extending our relationship allows us to explore additional innovative strategies to reach the young people who traditionally don’t watch a lot of news on television.”

CNN en Español, CNN’s only independently produced 24-hour network in a language other than English, is currently available in more than 18 million cable and DTH households throughout Latin America, and over 4 million households across the United States. The network provides continuous reporting on major world events, live breaking coverage complemented by in-depth interviews and analysis, economic and business news, global weather updates, sports, and feature programming on personal finance, health, parenting, technology, show business, movies, lifestyle, fashion, trends and travel.
