Sí TV, the first and only English-language network for the Latino community, announced today that Javier Saralegui has joined its board. Saralegui served as president and chief operating officer of Univision Online and President of Galavisión for a combined 20 years.

Today’s announcement was made by Michael Schwimmer, Sí TV’s chief executive officer.

“Javier is a true industry pioneer both in cable and the internet. He built Univision Online from the ground up creating America’s number one Spanish-language site. Previously, under Javier’s leadership, Galavisión became the top Spanish-language network in cable. His passion and belief in the power of the Latino audience, combined with his unique insight and business acumen, make him a terrific addition to our board. I look forward to working closely with Javier and the rest of the board to build upon our growth and success to date.”

Saralegui said, "For all the growth that the Hispanic market is experiencing and will continue to experience on an accelerated basis, the fastest growing segment is comprised of English dominant and bicultural Hispanics. Sí TV, now reaching over 22 million homes and growing, is perfectly situated to tap this largely underserved market, which also represents the next step for distributors and advertisers alike to reach out and engage U.S. Hispanics."

Saralegui became the founding president of Univision Online in 2000, and quickly turned Univision.com into the most-visited Spanish-language Web site in the U.S. Saralegui oversaw the launch of the site, and of Univision Móvil, the leading Spanish-language mobile content and video platform. He was responsible for the company’s original online and wireless content strategies, including e-commerce and related joint ventures.

From 1988-2000, Saralegui was president of Galavisión, the leading cable network for U.S. Hispanics, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the network. As president, he quintupled Galavisión’s distribution and revenues.

Saralegui holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hobart College. He resides in Manhattan with his wife and three children.

First comes love, then comes a wedding designed by hundreds of thousands of MySpace fans and then life as newlyweds. This not so typical story is the basis of Si TV's fascinating new reality series Elle & Tito: The Married Life premiering on Monday, March 29 at 9PM ET/PT.

In a historic television "first," Si TV, Endemol USA and MySpace have partnered to bring the successful and popular interactive reality web series, Married on MySpace, to television. Si TV will be the home to this new series, Elle & Tito: The Married Life, which will follow the post-wedding lives of the online show's stars. This marks the first time that reality web content has spawned a reality series on a television network, a move that executives say represents a new model for the cost-effective development of television programming.

The innovative 13 episode series will chronicle the ups and downs of life in a new marriage with web darlings Elle and Tito Figueroa, who are discovering the challenges of becoming a unified couple in all areas of their lives. Relationship issues, money concerns, starting careers and family stress are all part of The Figueroas' daily existence.

The series will explore a wide range of spousal challenges including pressure to expand their family, to get serious about their music career, and to learn to work through the conflicts that arise from living and working with your partner. The emotions will run the gamut from laughter to tears and the cameras will allow the viewers an unprecedented view into what it takes to make a relationship successful from the bottom up.

The interactive nature of Married on MySpace enabled MySpace users to influence almost every step and detail of a wedding, including casting the couple, selecting the bride's dress, choosing the couple's rings and picking the wedding location. The series consisted of 13 webisodes and concluded with a wedding ceremony where the key details chosen by the MySpace community were revealed.

The Endemol USA-produced web series generated more than one million votes from MySpace users, along with 15 million views -- making it the most-watched series done by MySpace -- and hundreds of thousands of MySpace friends for Elle and Tito Figueroa, the couple chosen to star in the webisodes by MySpace users.

The Si TV series will pick up where the web series left off, following Elle and Tito as they navigate the highs and lows of being newlyweds while trying to further their musical careers as singers and songwriters.

The new reality series will also serve as another groundbreaking "first" as Elle & Tito: The Married Life will have a launch on both Si TV and MySpace. The series will premiere on Monday, March 29, 2010 on Si TV, and MySpace will run original webisodes prior to each episode. Bonus content will also be available to fans on www.sitv.com throughout the series.

Si TV will unveil a fascinating and outrageously funny experiment in programming this January as the network chronicles what happens when 39 Latino comedians and celebrities explore a variety of hot-button issues in its newest original series, LATINO 101. The 13-episode series is edgy and unapologetic, designed to address longtime stereotypes about Latinos head-on. LATINO 101 will premiere on Si TV, the first television network dedicated to inspiring and entertaining American Latinos in English, on January 8 at 9PM ET/PT. Today's announcement was made by Maria Perez-Brown, Si TV's Senior Vice President of Programming.

LATINO 101 features an unprecedented collection of Latino entertainers who provide humorous and insightful observations on a specific topic each week, ranging from Family Studies to Politics to Music to Religion. The new series kicks-off on January 8 with Latino Studies, a lesson in Latino American History from a uniquely urban perspective. Joey Medina, Judy Reyes, Ruperto Vanderpool, and Sandra Valls are among the 39 LATINO 101 comedians, actors, writers and musicians who comprise television's most impressive stable of Latino pundits.

"It was a no-brainer when Si TV approached me about participating in LATINO 101," commented popular comedian Medina, who participates in several episodes of the series. He added, "I would never pass up a national opportunity to discuss controversial issues on TV! Seriously though, Si TV is breaking new ground by exploring our unique cultural experience as Latino-Americans and it's important to have a place we can see - and laugh - at ourselves on a regular basis."

Scrubs star Reyes, who also appears in multiple episodes, said, "LATINO 101 seemed like a clever opportunity to make fun of myself and each other as we're often inclined to take each other way too seriously or be way to correct in this business due to the limited opportunities available." She added, "It reveals itself to be a great way to expose everything from ironies to pet peeves to injustices to things that are so true AND funny that they're downright just 'not right.' I think ALL audiences will find themselves laughing their a---- off and nodding their heads relating to one thing or another!"
