“The 19th Annual “Premio Lo Nuestro a la MÚsica Latina” (“Lo Nuestro” Latin Music Awards) nominees were announced today during a press conference televised live on the Univision Network morning show “Despierta América” (Wake Up America). As in years past, the hottest names in Latin music make up the list of nominees for the longest running and highest rated Latin music awards program in the U.S. “Premio Lo Nuestro” will be broadcast by the Univision Network on Thursday, February 22, 2007, from 8-11 pm ET/PT (7-10 pm Central) live from Miami’s American Airlines Arena.

Groups or artists with four nominations each include Puerto Rican salsa artists Marc Anthony and Ví­ctor Manuelle, reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee, the rock group Maná, Colombian singer/songwriter Fonseca, urban music group N’Klabe, Mexican super-group Conjunto Primavera, norteño group Intocable, and Mexican banda artist Mariano Barba. Leading the competition in Regional Mexican categories is Grupo Montez de Durango with five nominations including “Album of the Year,” “Group or Duo of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Durangense Artist of the Year.”

Additional multiple nominees include pop music idols Ricardo Arjona (3) Christian Castro (3), duo Sin Bandera (3) and Thalí (2), tropical music group Aventura (3), Mexican rocker Alejandra Guzmán (3), and regional Mexican artists Jenni Rivera (3), Los Tigres del Norte (3), and Joan Sebastian (2) , Puerto Rican salsa stars India (2) and Tito Nieves (2), international pop sensation RBD (2), and multiple “Premio Lo Nuestro” award winner Olga Tañón (2).

Among other nominated superstars are Colombian recording artist Juanes, Puerto Rican pop icon Chayanne, TeleFutura’s hit singing competition “Objetivo Fama” winner Anaí­s, and Mexico’s legendary Vicente Fernández.

With finalists in 30 categories divided into the 5 most popular Latin music genres of pop, tropical, regional Mexican, rock and urban, along with the “Video of the Year”, “Premio Lo Nuestro” awards are bestowed annually to the very best talent in the Latin music industry. Music nominations are determined from charts compiled by the prominent recording industry trade magazine Radio & Records(R) for the time period of October 1, 2005, to September 30, 2006.

Starting today, Latin music fans can go to http://www.univision.com to cast their votes online and determine all of the “Premio Lo Nuestro” winners. “Premio Lo Nuestro” is the highest-rated annual special among Hispanics in the United States with an average audience of 6.1 million Hispanic viewers, the 2006 telecast beat all other English or Spanish language awards programs. The 7th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York and will be broadcast on the Univision Network from 8 – 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 – 10 p.m. Central).

Singer/actress Lucero and salsa superstar Victor Manuelle will host the Latin music industry’s premier event. Fashion entrepreneur and former Miss Universe Barbara Palacios will serve as emcee of the Pre-Telecast ceremony, during which winners in more than 30 of the 47 Latin GRAMMY categories will be announced prior to the evening’s telecast.”

Héctor Montaner, the son of famour singer Ricardo Montaner, is hoping to get the yet untitled album out by the end of September.

“Latino pop acts tend to have a trace of their roots in their music, beyond singing in Spanish. On Sunday night at Wolf Trap, the Argentine and Mexican R&B duo Sin Bandera showed that it’s not one of them.

Crooning love ballad after love ballad, Noel Schajris and Leonel Garc?a wooed their screaming and shrieking audience with essentially American R&B songs done in Spanish from three previous albums and their latest, “Ma?ana,” co-produced by Brian McKnight.”

“Two-time, Latin Grammy-winning duo Sin Bandera brings their soulful pop melodies to the Washington, D.C. area for a Sunday, June 18 concert at Wolf Trap, on the heels of a worldwide tour and the 2005 release of their newest album, “Manana.”

Known in Latin music circles separately, Leonel Garcia of Mexico and Noel Schajris of Argentina met spontaneously in 2000. Not only did both artists blend musically with their piano and guitar talent, but in their world views as well. Garcia and Schajris coined their group name Sin Bandera on the ideals that music is “without a flag” — emphasizing that their craft is a unifying, energizing world force. The pair’s musical and songwriting chemistry has brought them much success in their native audiences.”

“Sin Bandera, the two time Latin Grammy-winning band fronted by Leonel Garcia and Noel Schajris makes its North Bay debut this spring at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. The band will bring their winning blend of soulful pop melodies to the Center’s 1600 seat Ruth Finley Person Theater on May 6 at 8 p.m.

This eclectic pop act stormed up the charts in 2002 with their ballad “Entra En Mi Vida” featured on the Mexican soap opera Cuando Seas Mia. Now, after selling more than one million copies each of their first self-titled album Sin Bandera and second album De Viaje, the award-winning duo is back with their third album Manana. The album includes songs produced by Brian McKnight and Aureo Baquiero and duets with Reggaeton artist Tego Calderon, International artist Laura Pausini, and Multi Grammy award winning Rap artist, Missy Elliot.”
