"Puerto Rican Newscaster Carmen Dominicci and Mexican Actress and Singer Maite Perroni grace the cover of Siempre Mujer's August/September issue, on newsstands now.

For captions Click Here

Despite some rough times, Emmy-Award winning Dominicci says that she is "focused and at peace." After being laid off from Univision earlier this year, she reveals: "Everything happens for a reason. I think God challenged me so that I could experience things I'd never been able to before because of my job... Before, I lived but I didn't exist and this has been a period of rediscovery."

She also shares that she is still open to love despite the marital problems she faced with ex-husbands Fernando del Rincon and Osvaldo Rios: "I am not scared of love and I don't hate men. Even though people might say: 'But the same thing has happened to you twice.' No! Just because I've had two bad experiences doesn't mean that they've all been like that. There is -- and always will be -- space for love"

Siempre Mujer's video podcast with Dominicci is available at http://charlablog.typepad.com/charlablog/2009/08/carmen-dominicci-despu%C3%A9s-de-la-tormenta.html.

Perroni, the magazine's West Coast cover star, reveals her look good products and shares her beauty secrets: "Sleep as much as possible, remove my makeup and stay hydrated with plenty of liquids. I also always put on sunscreen before I leave the house and use raw potatoes to relieve puffy eyes." Perroni's video podcast will be available later this month on iTunes and Charlablog.com.

"Meredith Hispanic Ventures, the leading publisher serving Hispanic women in the United States, today announced the launch of two new video podcast series from Ser Padres and Siempre Mujer, their magazine brands reaching parents and women, respectively. The series - Ser Padres Contigo and Siempre Mujer Extra - represent brand extensions for the Spanish-language titles, which already reach engaged audiences via blogs (mimosblog.com and charlablog.com), Facebook, Twitter and more.

Today, Siempre Mujer Extra premieres a video with Colombian Actor Manolo Cardona, who graces the first-ever Siempre Hombre "flip" cover in the June/July issue (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=319380991). He shares his thoughts on women, romance and love. Also, Ser Padres Contigo launches a video showing parents how to keep kids protected against sun damage (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=316198780).

"Research has shown that minority groups are increasingly enthusiastic about new tech-savvy ways of receiving information. In fact, the number of Spanish-dominant Hispanics in the U.S. using podcasts is expected to grow by 10% over the next year," commented Ruth Gaviria, vice president of Meredith Hispanic Ventures. "Our content - from parenting and relationship advice, to beauty reviews, to restaurant recommendations - is custom-made for video and we are incredibly proud to be the first Spanish-language publisher to offer this."

The titles plan to release at least one podcast per issue, two to three minutes in length. They will be free-of-charge and are designed to educate and entertain the growing number of U.S. Hispanic Internet users and expand on magazine content in an interactive and timely way.

Previous Siempre Mujer Extra podcasts have focused on a behind the scenes look at the magazine's editorial meeting and personalities; summer beauty essentials; and the NYC Latin restaurant, Sazon, a staff favorite. Ser Padres Contigo has featured spring fashion for kids, and videos showing off the sights and sounds of San Antonio.

"Siempre Mujer, the leading magazine for Hispanic women in the U.S., turns its focus to men with the first-ever "flip issue" of the magazine dedicated to men and relationships -- Siempre Hombre. In this June/July issue, Puerto Rican Actress Roselyn Sanchez and Colombian Actor Manolo Cardona candidly talk about relationships and the opposite sex.

Sanchez recounts how she fell in love with her now-husband, American actor Eric Winter: "What happened with him had never happened to me before. We were friends first. He was interested, but was very respectful and patient. And then one day I realized, 'Wait a second. There's something here.'" She also shares that marrying a non-Latino has its challenges: "Sometimes I want to scream 'chancleta' at him and I can't. The fact that I can't communicate well when I'm annoyed drives me nuts!"

Cardona shares that he's not afraid to show some vulnerability: "Of course I've cried over a woman before! I've cried from laughter and pain. It's always worth crying over a woman." And, he admits that he's not ready for marriage just yet even though he's been quietly dating Brazilian model Katharina Satch for the past three years: "I still have some time before I'm ready to take on a family. It's definitely in my future, but not quite yet."

Cardona's flip cover opens up to reveal a magazine-within-a-magazine -- guest edited by Al Rojo Vivo's Jorgito Bernal -- dedicated to the men in Latina women's lives. Coverage includes: a Father's day gift guide, a too- casual man's style makeover, and financial advice for couples arguing about money from Siempre Mujer Contributor Xavier Serbia. The issue also reveals the winner of the magazine's nationwide search for the Sexiest Husband: Enrique Melon, 33, from Orlando, Florida.

The June/July issue of Siempre Mujer magazine hits newsstands nationwide on June 2. For more on these and other stories, please visit Siempre Mujer's companion blog, Charlablog.com.

"For the third year in a row, Siempre Mujer magazine honors "Always Inspiring" Hispanic women in its signature Siempre Inspiran October/November feature. The 2008 honorees -- Myrka Dellanos, Mayte Prida, Laura Posada, Maria Elena Salinas, Ingrid Betancourt, Maria D. Roberts and Marisol Gonzalez -- were chosen for their hands-on commitment to important causes in the Hispanic community.

To view the Multimedia News Release, go to: http://www.prnewswire.com/mnr/meredith/35102/

The magazine celebrated this year's honorees at a VIP Hudson Hotel Siempre Inspiran Awards Reception on September 23, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Johanna Torres and Al Rojo Vivo's Candela Ferro, one of last year's honorees. The event was sponsored by Mary Kay and Yoplait and featured a silent auction to benefit the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, which works to eliminate cancers affecting women and ending the epidemic of violence against women.

Special guests at the event included last year's cover star and Siempre Inspiran honoree Adamari Lopez, who wrote this introduction to this year's magazine feature; New York Yankee Jorge Posada, celebrating his wife's honor; former Siempre Mujer cover star and Mexican telenovela star Lorena Rojas; and Mexican pop singer Jimena.

This year's honorees are:
-- Cover Star Myrka Dellanos -- This news personality has increasingly turned her energy to humanitarian causes, including establishing Missions Reaching Out Compassionately (MROC) last year to help less fortunate women and children in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Already, MROC is building a community center in Barranquilla, Colombia, and a recreation center in Choluteca, Honduras, where kids can play safely after school.

-- Broadcast Star and Author Mayte Prida -- Prida turned her 2001 breast cancer diagnosis into an opportunity to help others by starting the Mayte Prida Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping women and their families while undergoing the uncertainties of cancer. Prida has become one of the most prominent Hispanic advocates for women and health issues in the country today.

-- Attorney, actress and former model Laura Posada -- After her first son with husband New York Yankee Catcher Jorge Posada was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis 10 days after his birth, the couple established The Jorge Posada Foundation to help find a cure for the disease and support families with children affected by the condition. She admits, "Before this experience, I was much more selfish because life had been easy for me. After he was born, I realized how much you can love and care for another person."

-- TV Journalist Maria Elena Salinas -- As co-anchor of Noticiero Univision, Salinas realized early that she had a responsibility to help educate and inform people. That's why she has been spokesperson for the National Association of Latina Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) for the past 15 years. In this role, she motivates Hispanics to become U.S. citizens, register to vote and participate in the democratic process.

-- Colombian Politician and Activist Ingrid Betancourt -- This former Colombian Presidential Candidate dedicated her campaign to eradicating corruption and drug trafficking in her native country. She was recently released from six years as a hostage of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and has vowed to continue her fight. She says: "It's no longer a time to spill blood. It's time to drop our weapons and pick up roses instead."

-- Social Worker Maria D. Roberts -- After years working as a social worker nationally and internationally, Roberts and her husband founded Rise Up International, an organization that seeks to empower at-risk kids in Nicaragua and across the world.

-- Filmmaker Marisol Gonzalez -- Her documentary Behind the Wall vividly chronicles how children on the U.S.-Mexico border in Tijuana are trapped in a vicious cycle of drug dependency, abuse and prostitution. Gonzalez hopes her film will create awareness for the plight of these kids and serve as a call-to-action for help.

The October/November issue of Siempre Mujer is on newsstands now. Also, this year, V-me, the Spanish-language network available in over six million Hispanic households, will air a one-hour Siempre Inspiran broadcast special on its show Viva Voz con Jorge Gestoso during the first week of October.

"Siempre Mujer magazine announced today that it will increase its frequency from six to eight times a year by 2010. The increase will come gradually, with the magazine splitting its October/November issue in 2009 and its April/May issue in 2010.

This month, Siempre Mujer also launches a partnership with Americatel, the first regional telecommunications carrier for Latin America and the Caribbean, for special subscription offers with the purchase of select monthly calling plans to Mexico. Americatel generates more than 100,000 new Hispanic customers with their monthly plans each year.

"Our growth reflects the overall growth of Hispanic women in this country," commented Ruth Gaviria, executive director of Meredith Hispanic Ventures. "Few magazines have our depth of penetration against its target audience and that will only grow as we increase our rate base to 450,000 next year, add issues and reach more Hispanic women with creative and targeted partnerships."

About Americatel
Born of NAFTA, Americatel is the first regional telecommunications carrier focused on the needs of multinational companies operating in Latin America and the Caribbean regions. Founded in 1993 as a dial-around long-distance provider, the company expanded in 1998 to offer residential domestic and international long-distance services throughout the continental United States, targeting primarily Hispanic customers.

About Siempre Mujer
Launched in September 2005, Siempre Mujer is a Spanish-language lifestyle and service publication for Hispanic women living in the United States. Published by Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP), Siempre Mujer helps women navigate a new American culture by covering the worlds of: fashion and beauty; food and entertaining; family and parenting; culture and entertainment; relationships and self-development; health and fitness; and finance. The bi-monthly national magazine has a rate base of 375,000, which will jump to 450,000 in 2009. "

"Siempre Mujer magazine and Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo launch a national, month-long contest today to coincide with the magazine's April/May Green Issue and Telemundo's Green Week. Consumers can enter online or via mail by answering the question "How are you a Friend of the Planet?" The contest runs through April 30th, 2008 and consumers can visit www.siempremujer.com for more details.

One person will win energy efficient GE appliances, green beauty products featured in the April/May issue of Siempre Mujer, and a one-year subscription to the magazine, for a total prize-package valued at up to $5,000. The winner will also be visited by Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo's on-air personality Vanessa Hauc and Siempre Mujer's Editor-in-Chief Johanna Buchholtz-Torres and appear in a future TV segment and magazine issue.

"This is the second year of our signature Green Issue, in which we share easy, innovative and family-friendly ways that our readers can help protect the environment," commented Buchholtz-Torres. "And now, we can't wait to turn to the tables and hear from readers about their best green tips! We are so excited to be partnering with Telemundo in such an important way."

"We are happy to be part of this change in conscience that is taking place at a global level," said Hauc. "Telemundo and Al Rojo Vivo have led this initiative, relaying the important message to Hispanics and we love to see how different media and sectors have joined this fight for the planet."

Siempre Mujer promotes the Friend of the Planet contest in the April/May issue, on newsstands today, featuring Telemundo star Candela Ferro on the cover, and online. Al Rojo Vivo will also promote the contest on air through its weekly green-themed "Alerta Verde" segments and through an e-blast to its national database.

Other green stories featured in the magazine include:

CANDELA FERRO - Page 38
These days, everyone talks about going green but Candela Ferro has been living green for years. Here, she invites us into her environmentally-conscious world and shows us how she does it - from recycling, to driving with the windows down, to going to the beach every morning. She says: "It's amazing when you start taking care of your surroundings and the green routine becomes a part of your life. You feel happy and productive."

HOW YOUR FAMILY CAN GO GREEN - Page 24
Siempre Mujer shares simple green steps and strategies designed for today's busy and bustling families. We'll take you from the ideal to the practical. For example: Ideally, you'd install light sensors throughout your house so that lights automatically turn off when people leave the room. In a practical world, why not assign "Light Monitor" as a household chore and "charge" 25 cents every time someone leaves them on? The money accumulated can go toward your new batch of energy efficient bulbs.

NATURAL CLEANING - Page 82
If your cupboard contains baking soda, vinegar and soap, you have all you need for safe and effective household cleaning. Siempre Mujer shows you how to mix these three products in order to best scrub the oven, clean wood floors, and deodorize toilet bowls. Cleaning has never felt this natural!"

"Angélica Vale, star of La Fea más Bella, opens up in Siempre Mujer’s December/January issue about her New Year’s resolutions, her acting career that began at two-years-old and what she desires most in 2008. Excerpts from the issue, on newsstands nationwide, follow:

About going after that lead role: “Maybe because I’m not Barbie-type – blonde, thin, blue eyed –, it was impossible for people to see me as the protagonist in a telenovela.” But, she says: “Even though the big opportunity wasn’t coming, I couldn’t get angry or upset. I kept preparing myself so that, if it did come, I wouldn’t miss out because I wasn’t ready.”

One of her New Year’s goals: “Come January 1st, like every other year, I’ll think about getting back to the gym.” Then, she laughingly admits: “Also, like every other year, that thought will probably only last a few days.”

About her dreams of finding love: “I’ve always been a romantic. But it doesn’t mean you lose faith if you haven’t achieved much success. I know that God will send me someone very special, and that every day I’m a little closer.”

Also inside the December/January issue of Siempre Mujer:

“Men do have a place in the pages of Siempre Mujer!,” commented Siempre Mujer Editor-in-Chief Johanna Buchholtz-Torres. “Our readers asked for them and we are proud to feature our first ever list of inspiring men: the quintessential family man, the one that makes us laugh, the one that romances us with songs and others. Put them together and you have the perfect guy. What’s not to love?”

Also inside the June/July issue featuring cover star Danna Garcia:

DANNA GARCIA’S SUMMER SURVIVAL GUIDE – Page 50
Everyone wants to feel radiant, relaxed and energized during the summer and Siempre Mujer and Danna Garcia, star of Telemundo’s Pasión de Gavilanes, are here to show you how. We consulted with trainers for their favorite warm-weather workouts, nutritionists for their top healthy eating tips and our very own beauty editors for the products to keep your skin soft, your locks luscious and your makeup beautiful. Don’t miss Danna’s summer reading and music recommendations!

SWIMSUITS IN PARADISE – Page 44
This summer, the sea, the sun and the breeze all invite you to look your best when you strut your stuff beach-side. It’s a good thing this season’s swimsuits are up for the challenge! Join Siempre Mujer as we take you through a tour of the hottest trends in beach wear. We’ll show you how graphic prints, bohemian styles and accessories, metallics, earth tones and bright, solid colors are all the rage. We’ll also showcase suits that work well with all budgets.

MIAMI FLAVORS WITH INGRID HOFFMAN – Page 76
As Miami increasingly becomes the mecca for all sorts of mouth-watering Latin American cuisines, it’s only appropriate that someone becomes the city’s culinary spokesperson. That someone is TV personality and chef extraordinaire Ingrid Hoffman, who’s about to launch her first English-language cooking show called Simply Delicioso on the Food Network. Hoffman shares some of her best recipes, like Salmon Served with Green Sauce and Mango or the Guanábana Mojito, and a list of her favorite Miami spots.

DEALING WITH LOSS – Page 86
Losing a loved one can be a confusing, traumatizing and emotional experience for a child. That’s why Siempre Mujer consulted with experts to share the best ways to help them through it. Make sure to apprise school teachers of the loss, find ways to honor the deceased and encourage kids to write a letter to the loved one are just some of the tips we offer. Our story will help parents understand that being open and honest, yet careful with our words, could be the best ways to guide kids through their grief.

YOU’RE IN BUSINESS; NOW WHAT? – Page 96
Like many entrepreneurial women out there, you took the plunge and started your own business – congratulations! Now, Siempre Mujer Financial Editor Xavier Serbia reminds you about the important steps you must take in promoting, marketing, selling, distributing and billing your products and services in order to turn your business into a long-term success.

NEW YORK, N.Y., (December 13, 2005) – Siempre Mujer, the Spanish-language lifestyle and service magazine for women published by Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP), announced today that its April/May 2006 issue will focus on features and tips geared toward the Hispanic traveler. The issue will hit newsstands March 30th and the ad close date is February 2nd.

According to “The Minority Traveler,” a report issued by the Travel Industry Association of America, travel spending among Hispanics increased 20 percent between 2002 and 2003, as compared to just 2 percent for the national average. The figure is expected to keep growing as Hispanic Americans continue increasing their disposable income each year, yet the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies recently reported that marketers in the travel sector are not keeping pace.

“Travel is a huge area of interest for Hispanic families in the United States.,” commented Ruth Gaviria, executive director of Siempre Mujer. “Hispanic women view family vacations as a prime opportunity to connect with their families and they’re looking to Siempre Mujer for ideas on where to go, how to plan, what to pack, what to see and how to spend their travel dollars.”

The April/May 2006 Travel Issue will cover everything Hispanic women need to know before planning their family’s next vacation. The issue will feature prominent Hispanic personalities sharing their packing tips, a five-page story on U.S. destinations to match every family’s style, and a piece that showcases “must-have” travel products – from the right suitcase, to the best backpack, to the most comfortable neck pillow and more. The closing page of the magazine will be an emotional personal essay about one family’s first trip to their country of origin to meet relatives.
