Pizza Patrón, the premier Latin pizza brand, has posted comparable sales increases each month of 2009 leading to a 5.98 percent third quarter increase over 2008. The company cited its entrepreneurial spirit, expansion of new store models, and continued focus on creating a unique Latin experience in its stores for its increase in earnings.

"The 'llégale' or 'go get it' attitude that embodies our team makes it easy for us to react faster to market demands than the larger chains can," said Andrew Gamm, brand director for Pizza Patrón. "The creative process is extremely short for us when it comes to taking ideas to market execution."

Concepts such as Pizza Patrón's new QSP™ (Quick Service Pizza) model, which has moved the company closer to the fast-food segment, have helped in the company's positive growth. The QSP™ locations create more viable selling periods throughout the day and allow the company to better compete with fast-food chains for lunch and dinner convenience.

In addition, the company's Latin focus gives it a competitive edge in the pizza segment by allowing the brand to share a slice of the Latin life with a wide range of customers. Pizza Patrón has celebrated the diversity of the Latin culture and lifestyle in its stores since 1986, and continues to do so today. According to 2000 U.S. Census data, the United States represents the second largest Latino population in the world, and by the year 2020, one in five residents will be Latino.

"Our Hispanic brand focus continues to make us stand out from other chains," Gamm said. "The unique Latin experience of our concept has strong general market appeal, and at the same time it allows us to make our Latino-Hispano customers feel right at home."

Today, Pizza Patrón operates 92 stores in six states and plans to have 750 stores nationwide within a decade. Approximately 93 percent of Pizza Patrón restaurants in the U.S. are owned and operated by franchisees.

About Pizza Patrón -- Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has grown from four locations in Dallas to 94 locations in six states, with more than 40 additional stores under development. Pizza Patrón features festive, Latin-influenced pizza stores that are community-based in Spanish-speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. Since 2006, Pizza Patrón has expanded its menu to include new items such as Patrón Dips™, Fiesta Wings™, BreadStix™, QuesoStix™ and Churros. In addition, they successfully rolled-out their LISTA-NOW READY™ pizza program nationally. The carry-out pizza chain also features a variety of different store models including DINE-IN, RAPIDITO™ (airports/malls), TIENDITA™ (portable mini-store extension) and their QSP™ (Quick Service Pizza) drive-thru concept. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. The sauce is prepared fresh in the stores from crushed Roma tomatoes and marinated with a secret blend of herbs and spices. Only 100 percent mozzarella cheese is used on all pizzas. X-Large pizzas are offered at prices as low as $6 for cheese and one topping and $4 for the same medium AMIGO PIZZA™. An X-Large 'La Patrona' deluxe pizza with everything is priced as low as $8.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Pizza Patrón, the nation’s number one Latin pizza brand, has teamed with Pepsi in a national, co-branded promotion in all of its stores.

The promotion began Sept. 1 and was specifically designed to celebrate and honor the Latin culture and lifestyle during Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a bilingual promotion, but Spanish language dominant. Advertisements for the promotion read, "!Viva Latino! Pizza Patrón y Pepsi® Festejan el Mes Patrio," meaning, “Pizza Patrón and Pepsi celebrate this historic, patriotic month for all Latinos of diverse roots.”

With any 2-liter purchase of Pepsi products through Sept. 30, customers will receive a free phone egrip® Non-Slip Strip. The egrip is a protective, silicone material which can be applied to the back of a cell phone to make it easier to handle and prevent it from sliding on any surface.

The free egrip® features the Pizza Patrón and Pepsi logos, as well as Pizza Patrón’s slogan, “Latin Life, Enjoy.™” which reinforces the company’s unique focus while broadening its current customer base by inviting every demographic to enjoy and experience the diversity found within the Latin lifestyle.

“Celebrating the rich history and traditions found within the Latin life and culture is what makes our brand strong,” said Andrew Gamm, brand director for Pizza Patrón. “National Hispanic Heritage Month is a chance for us to honor the Latin culture which goes to the core of our company’s values.”

Since 1986, Pizza Patrón has been celebrating the diversity of the Latin culture and lifestyle in its stores. Today, the company operates 92 stores in six states and plans to have 750 stores nationwide within a decade. Approximately 93 percent of Pizza Patrón restaurants in the U.S. are owned and operated by franchisees.

"Puente-Brancato Enterprises, Inc. (PBE), a diversified provider of retail, winery, currency and advertising services, will open UFood Grill and Urban Taco restaurants in Dallas County's Parkland Memorial Hospital. PBE currently owns and operates UFood Grill and Urban Taco locations in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

"Given the success of our current UFood Grill and Urban Taco locations, which serve a menu of healthier food items, we are excited to open two new locations in one of the country's finest and largest public hospitals," said Gina Puente-Brancato, Chief Executive Officer of Puente-Brancato Enterprises, Inc. "We are also excited that, in this difficult environment, we will be generating more than 100 new jobs for the local economy. These 'fresh-for-you' concepts, along with our strong operational expertise, should create a winning combination for employees, patients and guests at Parkland."

UFood Grill, which serves no fried food, is a natural for hospitals looking to provide diners with a quick-service restaurant offering "better-for-you" versions of traditional favorites, such as chicken wraps, whole grain rice bowls and specialty salads. Urban Taco, a modern Mexican taqueria, has been enhanced to serve authentic Mexican favorites with more nutritional balance. Using all fresh ingredients, the menu includes items such as salads, urban tacos, and Mexico City tortas.

PBE is hiring more than 100 positions for the two restaurants before their December 1st, 2009 openings. PBE is continually searching for "difference makers" who enjoy a smaller, fast-paced organization that recognizes individual contributions and fresh, new ideas. The company is hiring everything from cooks to cashiers, food preps, administrative, utility and management personnel. Interested applicants should call 972-574-6227 or email jobs@pbedfw.com.

PBE, which operates 20 other business entities at DFW Airport, has been recognized as one of the area's best places to work, having been selected Workplace of the Year at the 2009 Celebration of Diversity Awards. The company is planning to expand its workforce 50 percent this year to meet growth projections.

ABOUT PUENTE-BRANCATO ENTERPRISES, INC.

Puente-Brancato Enterprises, Inc. is a Woman- and Hispanic-owned conglomerate of retail, hospitality, currency services, food & beverage, wineries, and media advertising businesses largely based at DFW Airport, which grosses more than $30 million annually and employs over 140 people from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. PBE is an equal opportunity employer."
