Barbara Ramirez, from Tracy, CA, was recognized for excellence in the Arts. Hailing from El Monte, CA, Efren Alcala was honored for Sports, while Romina Sanchez, a Miami resident, received the Academic Award. As a token of appreciation for their hard work, JCPenney also gifted the scholarship winners with a complete makeover experience at their Dadeland Mall JCPenney Store in Miami, FL. At the store, the winners received beauty services and a red-carpet look from JCPenneys Back-to-School styles.

Additionally, the winners personal stories about their experience were featured on Univisions Despierta America the following morning.
