"Diversity job board LatPro (www.LatPro.com), in conjunction with The National Society for Hispanic Professionals (www.NSHP.org), will once again bring its job fair series to Washington, DC, connecting multicultural jobseekers with companies seeking bilingual and bicultural professional candidates.

“The Spring 2009 Washington, DC job fair was a largely successful event,” said Ricardo Villalba, Events Manager for NSHP. “More than 20 individuals were hired on the spot at our DC fair in May, and we hope to have similar successes again in September.”

Response from employers and jobseekers has been so positive that LatPro documented testimonials in a video filmed at the DC event designed to prepare future participants for the exciting day that they can expect at a LatPro/NSHP career fair.

The career fair video can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddwZ-aEw1Lc

Admission is free for all job seekers. Professional dress is required. Jobseekers can pre-register at: http://network.nshp.org/events/washington-dc-fall-job-fair

"Utopia Communications, Inc., a NJ minority and woman-owned company, has launched a growing online networking forum for Hispanic PR professionals on the National Society for Hispanic Professionals (NSHP) web site.

The forum, called Hispanic Public Relations Professionals, has been named "Group of the Month" by the NSHP.

"When I sought out other Hispanic PR professionals such as myself, I found that they were few and far between," said Senior Vice President, National Operations Elliott Subervi. Subervi came to the PR industry from telecommunications and is a member of several Hispanic organizations such as the Latin American Association, the Hispanic Public Relations Association, the Latin Business Club of America and the League of United Latin American Citizens.

"I wanted to create a place where other Hispanic PR professionals could share their opinions and insights and be heard."

According to the U.S. Census Bureau(1), Latinos represent over 15 percent of the population, which translates to 45.5 million Americans as of 2007.

"With this number expected to grow by an additional 10 percent by 2050, it's critical that we look to expanding the role of Hispanics within the public relations profession," said Subervi. "As a minority-led organization, it is my hope that Utopia Communications can take a leadership role in this effort.

Utopia Communications was founded in 2005 and represents a new type of public relations firm: an ethically focused practice which represents organizations, ideas, people and companies that enhance the human condition and which operate within a strongly principled framework.

"The National Society for Hispanic Professionals (NSHP), in conjunction with diversity job board www.LatPro.com, will be returning to Dallas, TX with its diversity job fair series for multicultural jobseekers. Professional candidates with language and multicultural skills and companies seeking diverse employees will connect at NSHP's diversity hiring event being held at the Dallas Convention Center on Thursday October 23, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

With more than 43 percent of Dallas's residents identifying themselves as Hispanic or Latino (source: 2006 U.S. Census Bureau), Dallas is a prime location for the recruitment of diverse professionals, particularly those with Spanish-language abilities. More and more businesses are focused on recruiting bilingual employees to take advantage of global market opportunities, and also to serve the U.S. market, which is becoming increasingly infused with Spanish language and culture. The NSHP job fair makes it easy for these companies to screen hundreds of bilingual and multicultural professional candidates in an efficient recruiting format.

"We are thrilled to be returning to Dallas after the success of our last career event in 2007. We expect to have more than 40 companies and hundreds of jobseekers at the Dallas job fair," said Ricardo Villalba, Events Manager for NSHP. "The decision to come back to Dallas was an easy one based on the enormous positive response we received last year. Employers and jobseekers alike were impressed with the opportunities provided through the event."

Jobseekers attending the 2008 Dallas Diversity Career Fair will have the opportunity to network with fellow Hispanic professionals and local chapters of Latino organizations, in addition to meeting representatives from prestigious employers including Aramark, AT&T, Prudential, Aflac, and Pfizer.
