America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, announced today a historic development as a Hispanic Pastor for the first time emerges as the leader of the largest church within the Assemblies of God Fellowship. Rev. Wilfredo De Jesus, Senior Pastor of New Life Covenant in Chicago and Justice Vice President for the association emerges with such distinction.

"It's historic yet at the same time it speaks to the growing presence and influence of Hispanics in Evangelical denominations across America. We've known for years that Hispanics represent the growth component in American Christianity, yet this reality enables us to provide leadership as equal shareholders in the collective church. In addition, this news embodies a message that God has not abandoned the inner city; totally the contrary. He still weeps over the cities as we stand committed to urban revival and renewal," explained Rev. De Jesus.

NHCLC President, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, believes the convergence of the Salvation message of John 3:16 and the meeting the needs message embedded in Matthew 25, serve as the foundation for the success of the thriving congregation. "Rev. De Jesus stands committed to both saving the soul and the community. His commitment to biblical truth, righteousness and justice facilitate an atmosphere for transformation and empowerment," added Rodriguez.

The Assemblies of God today stands as the largest Protestant fellowship or denomination as it pertains to Hispanic adherents. With over 2,000 churches across the United States and Puerto Rico, the fellowship sees the Hispanic segment of the church as vital in its continued success. Recently, Dr. George O. Wood, General Superintendent spoke at New Life in Chicago.

"New Life Covenant Church has grown from 66 members ten years ago to over 11,000 today in its multi-site campuses. It is now the largest member church in the Assemblies of God. Over 100 ministries to the community flow from the church. Pastor Wilfredo (Choco) De Jesus is one of the most dynamic, spiritual empowered, sensitive, and purpose driven church leaders I have ever met," declared Wood.

In addition to his Pastoral duties in Chicago, Pastor De Jesus serves as Vice President for Justice in the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference while simultaneously planting a new church in Camden, New Jersey.

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference is the Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals unifying, serving and representing the Hispanic Born Again Community via 30,454 member churches and 16 million constituents by reconciling the vertical and horizontal of the Christian Message through the 7 Directives of Life, Family, Great Commission, Stewardship, Justice, Education and Youth.

America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, commended and applauded President Obama today for framing the "moral imperative" behind comprehensive immigration reform.

In a historic week for Immigration Reform in America, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez met with President Obama on Monday and urged the President to address the moral and spiritual dimension supporting immigration reform. Rodriguez joined a handful of other leaders representing the largest Hispanic organizations in the nation including National Council of La Raza, League of United Latin American Citizens and others in affirming the President's commitment while simultaneously reiterating the urgency of immediate action.

The meeting between the President and organizational leaders began a week that included gatherings with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and finalizing with the President's speech at American University.

Rodriguez believes these developments together may serve as a tipping point on the matter. "This week may very well stand as the week that changed the narrative of the immigration reform debate. It began with our meeting on Monday with the President where we affirmed his leadership and made it clear that the Evangelical community stands with him on this critical issue. President Obama and Evangelicals, yes, even Conservative Evangelicals stand as allies as it pertains to immigration reform that secures our borders, our communities and our values.

In addition, I believe it's significant for the President to have been introduced at American University by one of the leading Evangelical leaders in our nation, Pastor Bill Hybels. I similarly find it significant that Evangelical leaders sat front and center as the President delivered the speech.

The message conveyed is simple. The Evangelical community in addition to other faith communities today lead the charge for a Just Integration Solution that reconciles the rule of law and security with compassion and reconciliation. The President's speech serves as a defacto Clarion call for our nation to address this issue as expeditiously as possible.

What's next? Focusing on the members in Congress who refuse to bring our nation together and dare to play politics with security, families and our core beliefs. Our strategy includes a Voter Registration Campaign called Fuerza 2010, engagement of additional conservative faith groups, meetings with Republican leaders, African American and Hispanic grass roots mobilization and activism as senior partners in our Just Integration Campaign and internet, television and radio messaging components.

Finally, I have been asked time and time again, If I believe we will see immigration reform in 2010. The answer is found in Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

"CBN is already reaching millions through their worldwide television programming. This partnership will ensure exponential growth in CBN's reach to Hispanics in the U.S.," explained Dr. Nick Garza, COO for the Hispanic Association of Evangelicals.

The partnership will forge a relationship identifying CBN as Senior Media Partner of Hispanic NAE & its 25,434 member churches. "As a result of this partnership, the Latino Church will be resourced with a vision-enhancing experience, in addition to programming that will edify the community in authentic ways," stated Dr. Jesse Miranda, Chief Executive Officer of NHCLC.

CBN's Spanish flagship program, Club 700 Hoy, airs weekly throughout Iberoamerica and the US while maintaining a faithful international following for more than 40 years and in as many as 25 Latino countries. Worldwide, CBN international programming can be seen by more than 2 billion people.

CBN also offers a digital platform with an array of Spanish language programs for all ages. Their free Spanish IPTV channel , http://www.CBNespanol.tv , features original CBN productions and programs from different Latin American countries. CBNespanol.tv also offers video on demand of its most popular programs such as Vida Dura, Mundo Cristiano and Club 700 Hoy seen daily at 12:30pm.

"We are so excited about the partnership with NHCLC because they will let people know about the great inspirational media products that CBN has for helping Hispanic families worldwide," commented Sandra Smith, Director of Programming for CBN International.

"At CBN we share the call with the NHCLC to fulfill the Great Commission using the power of media. The Latino family unit is the cure for much of our wayward ways as it pertains to marriage and family values.

America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, announced today a strategic partnership with Streaming Faith and its founder, Chance Mason. The strategic partnership stands poised to deliver online video technology, web design & development, targeted e-communication, social media planning, and strategic consultative services to the NHCLC and its more than 25,000 member churches.

In addition, Streaming Faith will extend its partnership to the Hispanic Mega Church Association, Hispanic Evangelicals Scholars Association, and Alliance for Hispanic Christian Education. Through Streaming Faith's online video platform, ministries are able to deliver their messages via the Internet which results in reduced expenses for delivery, measurable name acquisition, increased fundraising capabilities, and an increased response from communication efforts.

"The convergence of digital technology and the Hispanic faith movement, particularly via the streaming video delivery system, enables the Hispanic Pastor to engage, enrich and empower the local church on a global scale. In essence, this partnership provides an opportunity for a world-wide ministry from the comfort of the local congregation," explained NHCLC President, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez.

Since 2000, Streaming Faith has served thousands of spiritual leaders, ministries, churches, universities and organizations that demonstrate a biblical commitment for partnerships, sharing life-changing products, and inspiring the church through online video communication solutions. In 2010, Streaming Faith expanded globally into South America and Asia to extend opportunities to ministries worldwide.

"We can think of no better partner than Rev. Rodriguez and the NHCLC. We know that through online video technology and other solutions we offer that the Hispanic church, the community can become more effective in its communication and extend its reach into new markets and the world. It is our goal to equip them for digital success," added Chance Mason, Streaming Faith founder and President.

America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, launched this week a National voter registration campaign focusing on registering Hispanic faith voters via local evangelical churches.

"Hispanic Christian voters will stand as the firewall against moral relativism, spiritual apathy and cultural decay. Without a doubt, Hispanic faith voters will reconcile a platform of righteousness and justice in the 2010 mid-term elections," explained Rev. John Murillo, Campaign Director.

In partnership with United in Purpose, a non-partisan, not-for-profit national coalition of Americans actively advancing the traditional values of our Founding Fathers, NHCLC will work with over 30,500 Hispanic evangelical congregations, 52 denominations and various state and local chapter networks in order to increase the number of registered Hispanic faith voters.

"Approximately 10 million Hispanics voted in the 2008 Presidential election. Our community embodies the values of our founding fathers. We desire to vote our Christian world view and frame the narrative of righteousness and renewal in the public square. At the end of the day, it's not about the elephant or the donkey but rather the lamb's agenda that counts," explained NHCLC President, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez.

The Campaign will target swing states with significant Hispanic populations by registering both on-line and in local churches. Hispanics can register to vote on-line via the http://votenhclc.com web site or by sending a text to 510-771-7974.

One year after forging an alliance with the nation’s leading Hispanic evangelical organization, Liberty University has renewed its partnership with the group and added its online curriculum, the Liberty University Online (www.luonline.com) Academy (LUOA), to the agreement.

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) is the largest Hispanic Christian organization in America, representing more than 25,000 churches and approximately 16 million Hispanic Christians. As part of the agreement, Liberty works with the group to promote Liberty University Online and now Liberty University Online Academy for 3rd- through 12th-graders among its member base.

Jay Spencer, dean of Liberty University Online Academy, said the partnership “indicates the level of commitment to and the compatibility of our educational programs with NHCLC’s mission and vision.”

Through the development of this partnership, Liberty expects to be the school that Latino-Americans think of when seeking online education from the 3rd grade up.

“Our desire is to see Hispanic born-again Christians mobilized on both the vertical and horizontal planes of the cross, preaching salvation and transforming their communities,” said Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, NHCLC President. “This can only transpire via the platform of top-tier education.”

Rodriguez spoke at a convocation at Liberty in October 2008 and invigorated students with his unshakeable testimony and passion for spiritual revival.

“When our students heard Reverend Rodriguez speak, it was obvious that the NHCLC and Liberty were on the same page,” said Orlando Lobaina, Liberty’s Executive Director of the Study Abroad office. “Our common emphasis on family, faith and higher education make this partnership a natural fit.”

In 2008, after tracking demographic trends, Liberty and the NHCLC both saw a greater demand for higher education among Hispanic evangelicals who, according to the NHCLC, represent the fastest-growing demographic of the Christian church in America and the Western hemisphere.

From the outset, NHCLC chairman Dr. Gilbert Velez called the partnership “historic and prophetic” because it enables Latino children to “study in an environment that resonates with their biblical worldview.”

Dr. Jesse Miranda, Chief Executive of the NHCLC, sees the partnership and the emphasis on education as the primary concern for the Hispanic evangelical community as it fosters next-generation leadership that can holistically live and execute the Gospel.
