"The first exhibition of Mexican Cinema was a total success with a great spirit of celebration, mariachis, food, and a family environment. The first series of Mexican Cinema, appearing on the screens of Premiere Cinema, presented by Azteca America Central Florida, the Mexican Consulate in Orlando, and Casa de Mexico, began last Sunday, September 7th, and opened a new window for Latin-American movies in Central Florida.

The classic movie "Dos Tipos de Cuidado" filled the theatre to capacity and showcased the unforgettable Mexican movie icons Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete. It captivated the public and brought smiles and laughter all around; being brought back to the big screens for the first time since premiering 55 years ago.

"I am truly happy to see this movie, although I had already seen it on television. It's different to see it in theatres; it's a different sensation. I am completely touched. I was laughing a lot. I have lived many years in this country and I hope that you will bring more movies in Spanish," said Ms. Sanchez, who was accompanied by her family.

The Consul of Mexico in Orlando, Jaime Paz y Puente; the Director of Casa de Mexico, Blanca Trabold; the Director of Premiere Cinema, Tony Delgado; the President of Azteca America Central Florida, Mario Ragazzo; the General Manager of Azteca America Central Florida, Alejandro Mele; and the Vice President of Communications for Azteca America Central Florida, Alonso Garcia, were all present at the opening ceremony.

"Movies are a link that transport us in time to places and through a range of feelings that awaken us," declared Jaime Paz y Puente, the Consul of Mexico.

The movies shown were the following: Mezcal (2006), directed by Ignacio Ortiz; El Mago (2005), which won the Gold Zenith in the Montreal Film Festival; and a Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete classic, Dos Tipos de Cuidado (1953) (presented courtesy of Televisa Foundation). Without a doubt, these movies touched the Latin-American community.

"Azteca America wants to thank Mexico, which permits us to be part of its idiosyncrasy and of its message that reaches to everyone. We are proud to carry the name of Azteca and reflect it in each thing we do for our community; even more with the support of the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando and Casa de Mexico, who are always taking care of serving the community," said Alonso Garcia, Vice President of Communications for Azteca America.

"I am completely impressed by how the public enjoyed a movie from the 50's. That shows how much they love these movies," commented Tony Delgado, Director of Premiere Cinema. "This series of movies is special to our Latin-American community and they motivate me to continue in this path."

If you do not have Azteca America, request it from your cable provider!
