With over 450 corporate and community leaders in attendance, MAOF Board Chair The Honorable Teresa Sanchez-Gordon declared the gala would be a “celebration of Dr. Morales’ extraordinary life.” The ballroom came to a hush when Dr. Morales’ widow, Maria Morales, took the stage to thank MAOF for its outpouring of support since Dr. Morales’ death on September 24 and shared some of her fondest memories from the early days of MAOF and after 61 years of marriage.
