LATV Networks, the 4-year old national Hispanic television network, announced today that it has begun airing on KPDF in Phoenix, Arizona, KVER in Palm Springs, California and KLHO in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma -- all Top 60 national Nielsen markets based on Hispanic homes. The new affiliates extend LATV's reach to 37 markets, representing 10 million U.S. Hispanic television households.

"Adding three markets that represent over half a million new Hispanic homes to LATV's network of affiliates is a real validation of our programming and distribution strategy," said David Morales, LATV's Vice President of Distribution & Sales. "LATV has helped local station affiliates solve the riddle of where to look for new revenue - they need only turn to the exploding Hispanic populations in their own backyards."

LATV's move into Phoenix, the USA's number 8 Hispanic television market with 398,750 Hispanic households; Palm Springs, the number 39 Hispanic market with 61,910 Hispanic homes; and Oklahoma City, the number 52 Hispanic market with 44,730 Hispanic homes, places the network in 48 million total television households, including 21 of the top 25 Hispanic DMA's (Designated Market Areas). LATV projects coverage of 52 million homes by year-end 2010.
"As American Latino approaches a decade of national presence on-air, the U.S. Hispanic community can take pride in what this accomplishment represents," said David Morales, LATV Vice President of Sales & Distribution. "The show's popularity has passed the test of time and, together with LatiNation, it has proven that positive and uplifting portrayals of Latinos on national television are a win-win for broadcasters, advertisers and the viewing public."
"Despite a distribution environment that has remained challenging due to the slow recovery of the economy, our shows have retained their relevance and remain in high demand as the preferred vehicle for marketers to reach second- and later-generation Latinos in this country," Morales said.

In its upcoming season, LatiNation will feature a dynamic new host, Alexis de la Rocha , who will join New York-based host Jose Mangin, a fixture on the show since it launched seven years ago. American Latino will continue to be headlined by its popular young host, Valery Ortiz, who begins her second year after taking over from previous host, Daisy Fuentes.
