Daisy Fuentes To Host and Produce Nationally Syndicated ‘American Latino TV’

"American Latino Syndication, a wholly-owned division of Los Angeles-based LATV Networks, announced today that TV personality Daisy Fuentes is hosting and co-executive producing "American Latino TV" this coming Fall 2009. The historic eighth season of the nationally syndicated half-hour weekly begins airing the first weekend of October.

"Last Spring we shot a segment for the show with Daisy telling the story of her inspirational transition from starlet to businesswoman, and I think we both just realized that she was a perfect fit," said David Morales, Executive Producer of both "American Latino" and its companion show "LatiNation." "Daisy is proud to be an American Latina and the shows have always been about the extraordinary accomplishments of people in our community."

American Latino, the original "in-culture" English-language TV show targeted to U.S.-born Latinos (over 60 percent of all U.S. Latinos), is seen in over 100 cities, representing over 81 million homes. The show is broadcast to over 92 percent of Hispanic TV homes, making it second only to Spanish-language television giant Univision Network for distribution of Hispanic-targeted TV programming.

"I've always been a fan of American Latino because I relate to the people that are featured and feel inspired by the stories they share," said Daisy Fuentes. "My culture is a huge part of who I am, and the show captures this perspective in a very entertaining way, week after week."

Daisy will co-executive produce the magazine-format program, which will add to an impressive portfolio of accomplishments over her career. She became a TV star when MTV signed her as a VJ in the US and Latin America. "LATV, the nation's first bicultural and bilingual entertainment/music network distributed via digital multicast, announced today that it had signed on its fourth Tribune affiliate, KTXL-FOX40, covering Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto, California. The station is in the 11th-largest Hispanic market and is ranked as the 20th largest Designated Market Area (DMA). KTXL-FOX40 began broadcasting LATV on Friday, December 5 on digital channel 40.2. This is LATV's 35th digital multicast affiliation across the U.S.

"Sacramento is a pivotal affiliate for us as we round out our presence in California. Now with the addition of the 11th-largest Hispanic market in our fold, we cover the state," said Howard Bolter, president and COO, LATV. Shot in front of a live studio audience, the roundtable debate on the presidential election is moderated by the network's own Humberto Guida and produced in conjunction with Voto Latino organization. The program will air Monday, October 20th at 9:30 p.m. ET and will have an encore presentation, Monday, October 27th at 9:30 p.m. ET.

"There's never been a more important time for people to participate in our democratic process. Decision 2008 is an important part of the network's year- long online effort in association with Voto Latino to drive viewers to LATV.com and Voto Latino.org, encouraging them to register and vote," said Danny Crowe, president, LATV.

A cross-section of panelists representing both the young Latino conservative as well as the young liberal point of view, will take part in the half-hour LATV special. They are:

Ceasar and Chuy Nominated for Imagen Award

"The hit television series Ceasar and Chuy received an Imagen Award Nomination for Best Variety Show. The animated duo is set to make a special appearance at the ceremony to be held this coming August 21, 2008 in Beverly Hills.

Ceasar and Chuy and the variety of animated characters in the program touch on Latino related issues dealing with politics and religion, to music and education. “We try to touch on serious issues, in a very funny way”, say Keu Reyes, a creator and writer on the show.

Ceasar and Chuy has quickly risen to be one of the most unique and cherished programs in television, attracting the interest of a diverse group of advertisers looking to integrate their product with the animated duo. Since the show’s inception, Ceasar and Chuy have managed to land big time sponsors, such as Universal Pictures and McDonalds, with many more advertisers in the near horizon.
