About the Film

After seventeen years of witnessing hate crimes against immigrants in Fort Myers, Florida, Guillermo Salamanca takes a courageous step to expose these injustices to humanity. Guillermo turns to the screen with his experience working as a news journalist, which brought him face-to-face with many stories of love, dreams, sorrow, pain and death. After hearing stories of harsh realities, Salamanca was driven to expose the terrible things people are capable of hiding and denying.

Synopsis
Short Synopsis: Despite the political obstacles within the United States immigration system, many families from around the world have fled their countries in search of opportunity, political asylum, and even freedom. Set in Fort Myers, Florida, the film portrays the detailed development of relationships between people of different cultures.

Inspired by true stories, the film recalls the social injustices that many have had to endure and the need for significant immigration reform to protect human rights.

Premier
Salamanca's Platinum Reel Award-winning film will be available for public viewing on November 20, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. during its first Florida screening at the Sidney and Berne Davis Arts Center in Ft. Meyers. There will be a red carpet ceremony before the screening to welcome guests.
