The documentary, directed by Dan Guerrero, also the Director of the Festival’s original musical programming for 2011, and co-produced by Marcela Davison Aviles, who also serves as Executive Producer of the Festival, may be viewed online at http://www.vivafest.org/2010/tv.php.

The Executive Director of CreaTV San Jose, Suzanne St. John-Crane will travel to Tucson to accept the award on behalf of CreaTV San Jose and MHC.

"CreaTV was honored to help capture this conversation between Linda Ronstadt and Dolores Huerta,” said Suzanne St. John-Crane, Executive Director, CreaTV San Jose. “Just two weeks after taping, these two icons made a trip to Arizona together to make a forceful statement against the anti-Latino legislation that had just been passed. I can't think of a better example of how CreaTV fulfills its mission to foster civic engagement through media.”

The Hometown Video Awards honor and promote community media, and local programs that are distributed on Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access cable television channels. Community media stations from across the country participate in these awards annually. Awards are presented to creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community involvement, challenge conventional commercial formats and move viewers to experiences television in a different way.

“Working with CreaTV, Dan Guerrero, and our own 'Adelitas' of American civic culture, Linda Ronstadt and Dolores Huerta, was a dream come true,” stated Davison Aviles. “Stations like CreaTV, and this award, provide broad access to our once in a lifetime opportunity – through their distribution platform our hometown, and hometowns across America, can learn about, and celebrate, the triumph of these brave women warriors, and the unique festival which celebrates their artistry and legacy.”
