Daisy Fuentes To Host and Produce Nationally Syndicated ‘American Latino TV’

"American Latino Syndication, a wholly-owned division of Los Angeles-based LATV Networks, announced today that TV personality Daisy Fuentes is hosting and co-executive producing "American Latino TV" this coming Fall 2009. The historic eighth season of the nationally syndicated half-hour weekly begins airing the first weekend of October.

"Last Spring we shot a segment for the show with Daisy telling the story of her inspirational transition from starlet to businesswoman, and I think we both just realized that she was a perfect fit," said David Morales, Executive Producer of both "American Latino" and its companion show "LatiNation." "Daisy is proud to be an American Latina and the shows have always been about the extraordinary accomplishments of people in our community."

American Latino, the original "in-culture" English-language TV show targeted to U.S.-born Latinos (over 60 percent of all U.S. Latinos), is seen in over 100 cities, representing over 81 million homes. The show is broadcast to over 92 percent of Hispanic TV homes, making it second only to Spanish-language television giant Univision Network for distribution of Hispanic-targeted TV programming.

"I've always been a fan of American Latino because I relate to the people that are featured and feel inspired by the stories they share," said Daisy Fuentes. "My culture is a huge part of who I am, and the show captures this perspective in a very entertaining way, week after week."

Daisy will co-executive produce the magazine-format program, which will add to an impressive portfolio of accomplishments over her career. She became a TV star when MTV signed her as a VJ in the US and Latin America. She was the first Latina to sign a worldwide contract with Revlon, and now Daisy Fuentes is an American brand which includes an empire of quality products like sportswear, fragrances and bedding as well as the new Daisy Fuentes Pilates for Nintendo's popular Wii Fit. She's been on countless beauty and fashion magazine covers, the latest being the cover of Latina magazine's August 2009 edition.

"American Latino TV and LatiNation, two nationally syndicated TV programs for U.S.-born, American Latinos, celebrate the most successful year in their history and the launch of their 7th and 5th seasons respectively with an intimate party at ultra-hip hotspot Home in New York City.

American Latino TV Taps Jeff Stern as Director of Distribution

"LatiNation, LLC, the holding company for the nationally syndicated TV programs American Latino TV (ALTV) and LatiNation, announced today that it has hired Jeff Stern as Director of Distribution. Mr. Stern will lead ALTV's syndication distribution arm as well as assist with parent company LATV's multicast distribution strategy. In addition, Mr. Stern will supplement ALTV's advertising efforts, particularly in Texas.

Prior to his position at ALTV, Mr. Stern was the regional account executive at the San Antonio CBS affiliate KENS-TV, where he specialized in new business development and Internet sales. In addition to working for major sales rep firms such as TeleRep in Dallas and Petry Television in Chicago, Mr. Stern also has had extensive experience in distribution and ad sales in management positions at CBS' KEYE in Austin, TX; FOX's WVUE in New Orleans, LA; and WZTV FOX 17 / WUXP UPN in Nashville, TN where he was General Manager.

Mr. Stern was an integral part of Fox's Twentieth Television for over 10 years holding a variety of executive positions including Vice President, Southwest region; Vice President, Eastern division; and Division Manager, Central division. American Latino TV and LatiNation Fall Seasons Debut This Weekend in Record Number of Cities

"American Latino TV and LatiNation, the nationally syndicated TV programs for U.S.-born Hispanics, announced today that both shows will debut their new seasons in a record number of cities beginning this weekend, October 4th through 5th. American Latino TV's new season will premiere in an all-time high of 105 cities representing over 92 percent of Hispanic homes and over 70 percent of all U.S. TV homes. LatiNation will be seen in over 85 cities reaching over 88 percent of Hispanic homes and 65 million U.S. homes.
"This year has been the most successful year in the history of these shows in terms of advertising revenue growth and number of affiliates. As the Hispanic population has spread across the U.S., so have our programs. More viewers than ever will have the opportunity to enjoy culturally aware content in a positive format all too rare in today's television environment," said Robert G. American Latino TV, the flagship program is headed into its seventh season with an innovative look. “FIRM GO” FOR SEVENTH SEASON OF AMERICAN LATINO TV & LATINATION -Syndicated Shows Make Distribution Gains on Univision

American Latino TV (ALTV) and LatiNation, the award-winning, nationally syndicated TV programs, announced today that both shows have garnered key affiliate renewals and will continue into their historic seventh and fifth seasons respectively, beginning the week of September 29, 2008. "Our syndicated shows are coming off a record year of ad sales revenue in what is an otherwise bleak story for other media outlets, providing further evidence that advertisers and stations are recognizing that U.S.-born Latinos are not only the majority of the U.S. Latino market, they are not effectively reached via Spanish-language TV," states Robert G. Rose, executive producer of the shows. "Our acquisition by LATV Networks earlier in this year has given us the infrastructure to finally do the things we knew we could do. Next season marks the dawning of a new day for what was once the sleepy business of U.S. Hispanic media and marketing." American Latino TV, the original "in-culture" English-language TV show targeted to U.S.-born Latinos (over 60 percent of all U.S. Latinos), confirmed renewals as well as several new affiliates and upgraded timeslots in over 100 cities. The original weekly syndicated show will be seen in over 75 million homes, representing over 91 percent of Hispanic TV homes, making it second only to Spanish-language television giant Univision Network for distribution of Hispanic targeted TV programming. American Latino TV's companion show, LatiNation also secured key renewals clearing the way for its fifth season. It is distributed in over 85 cities reaching more than 62 million homes and representing over 55 percent of all TV homes as well as over 85 percent of Hispanic homes, with distribution that rivals Telemundo's. The dynamic duo's distribution received a boost with upgrades in major markets such as Houston, Dallas and Tampa in addition to a host of new markets. New markets for American Latino TV include Minneapolis, MN; Charlotte, NC; Little Rock, AR; and more while LatiNation secured Sacramento, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Casper/Cheyenne, WY among others. "American Latino and LatiNation's renewals demonstrates that creative shows targeted at the U.S.- born Latino resonate with an audience that is hungry for this unique type of programming. Election Fever Hits the American Latino TV Awards; Nation’s Only People’s Choice Awards for U.S. Hispanics Begins Airing This Weekend

"American Latino TV announced today that the 2nd Annual American Latino TV Awards, which serves to recognize excellence and achievement in the American Latino community, will air nationally in broadcast syndication in over 75 cities The rapidly growing syndicated awards show kicks off this weekend on Saturday, July 19th with a broadcast in Los Angeles, the nation's largest Hispanic market, on KABC-7 at 3:30 p.m. PDT. More than 46,000 online participants voted for their favorite American Latino in six categories, almost doubling the previous year's voting. The nominees for each category include:

1. FAVORITE ALTERNATIVE ARTIST: Paula Baby (Pin-up model), Danny D.
(Auto pin-striper), David Cortes (Action-figure sculptor) and Zarco
Guerrero (Cultural mask-maker.)
2. MOST INSPIRING AMERICAN LATINO: Dr. Richard Carmona (17th U.S. Surgeon
General), Ceja Family (Successful owners of Ceja Vineyards), Joe
Quesada (Marvel Comics illustrator/Editor-in-Chief) and Joe Conzo
(E.M.T. and legendary documentary hip-hop photographer).
3. FAVORITE INDIE FILM: "Bragging Rights" (Documentary about Latino
culture and stickball), "Brown is the New Green" (George Lopez hosts
this documentary about media and marketing misrepresentation of U.S.
Latinos), "Antonia" (Brazilian award-winning film) and "Shut Up and Do
It" (Actor unhappy with Latino portrayals directs and stars in his own
film).
4. FAVORITE INDIE MUSICAL ARTIST: Madball (Hardcore metal rockers),
Ladybug Mecca (Afro-Brazilian/Blues/Hip-Hop fusion), Calavera (Hardcore
Punk/Psychobilly) and The Pinker Tones (Electronica/Dance/Lounge/Pop)
5. FAVORITE EXTREME ATHLETE: Texas Rollergirls (Female roller derby team),
Rey Mysterio (WWE pro wrestler), Jonathan Tagle (Skydiver) and Jennifer
Santiago (Combat martial artist).
6. UNDERGROUND FASHION: Listen Clothing (Music-inspired designs), 1 Soul
Designs (Globally minded T-shirts), Stop Staring (Vintage pin-up) and
El Jefe Clothing (Rock/urban cross-cultural).

"The American Latino TV Awards Show is on a fast track with unique categories and the only online viewer voting that specifically seeks to recognize young, U.S.-born American Latinos doing extraordinary things," says Robert G.
