After a 3 year trial of producing regionalized news for several top 10 Hispanic market stations via the Telemundo Production Center in Dallas, the network is reverting to producing local news. Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Phoenix and San Jose will once again have locally produced news.

Yanked off the air in July after co-host Don Pryor repeatedly uttered an ethnic slur, “The Todd and Don Show” will return to KLBJ-AM on Dec. 7, according to a statement released jointly by the station’s management and local Hispanic leaders who met earlier today. – Austin
Ray Gomez, news director for Pro 8 News (NBC affiliate), the CW and Telemundo in Laredo, passed away last night.

Don Flores, who has been an executive and the top editor at the El Paso Times, has resigned. Flores’ departure ended a 15-year turn as top newsman at the paper, the largest and arguably most influential news outlet in the community.
