Friday marks the start of the 12th annual Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, which runs through Sept. 19, and will screen a diverse selection of films, shorts and documentaries by Latino filmmakers from the United States, Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal.
