State College of Florida hires help to reach out to Hispanic students
In 1961, Albert Pinelo moved to the United States from Cuba with dreams of making a name for himself. Now almost 48 years later Pinelo has done more than that. Pinelo, a retired political science professor, began teaching at Northern Kentucky University in 1972. He was recently awarded the title of emeritus professor.
The University of Texas at San Antonio ranked No. 4 in the nation in the number of undergraduate degrees awarded to Hispanic students and No. 12 in the number of master’s degrees awarded to Hispanics, according to the May 2009 edition of Higher Education magazine.
