The resurrection of legendary El Paso radio personality Steve Crosno is taking shape on the side of La Nave Grocery at Fourth and Campbell streets in South El Paso. Muralist Jesus “Cimi” Alvarado, 31, his friend Osvaldo Velez and volunteers have been working on the tribute mural on weekends and expect to finish it by mid-February.

l Paso native Gilbert Solarzano didn’t set out to be a TV news cameraman. It just kind of worked out that way. Now Solarzano has a ringside seat at Tuesday’s inaugural festivities. He’ll be the guy behind NBC’s camera on the north lawn of the White House, where he’s worked for the past six years.

The editor of the El Paso Times has stepped down, officials at the newspaper announced Tuesday.

Don Flores, who has been an executive and the top editor at the El Paso Times, has resigned. Flores’ departure ended a 15-year turn as top newsman at the paper, the largest and arguably most influential news outlet in the community.
