		<description><![CDATA[<blockquote>Hughes Watters Askanase L.L.P. (HWA) announced that Anabel Hernández has joined the firm as an associate in its Business Bankruptcy and Consumer Financial Services practice areas.<br />
<br />
Hernández began working with HWA (www.hwa.com) in 2008 as a law clerk while attending South Texas College of Law in Houston. Shortly after graduating, she became a full-time associate at HWA. Previously, Hernández served as a law clerk with the law firm of Nathan Sommers Jacobs, P.C., in Houston and also as a judicial intern with The Honorable Judge Jeff Bohm, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.<br />
<br />
In addition to bankruptcy law, Hernández focuses her practice on state and federal consumer finance regulation. Fully fluent in Spanish, she also reviews Spanish legal, financial and marketing materials for the firm and its clients to ensure accuracy and compliance. Additionally, she assists the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Business Planning and Strategy groups.<br />
<br />
Hernández was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in May 2009. Prior to graduating cum laude from South Texas College of Law with a Juris Doctor, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2004.<br />
<br />
Hernández is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association Bankruptcy Section, Houston Young Bankruptcy Lawyers Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, Mexican American Bar Association of Houston, The Arthur L. Moller - David B. Foltz, Jr. American Inn of Court, and the Turnaround Management Association. Hernández is also a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston and is a new member of the Latin Women’s Initiative.<br />
<br />
In her spare time, Hernández volunteers with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and the Citizenship Forum. She is also a lector and volunteer at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.<br />

		<description><![CDATA[<p>The first national tour by Latinos in Social Media (LatISM), takes place in three 
states - NY, TX, FL - during the Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th - October 15th). </p>

<p>With 21 million projected Latino internet users by 2010, Latinos are adopting social media as their primary 
source of communication, news and entertainment faster than any other group.  Their buying power is 
projected to reach $1.3 Trillion by 2013.</p>  

<p>This two-day event will provide a networking opportunity and conference presentation, bringing together 
the leading minds and innovators in social media and technology.  Attendees will benefit by learning how to 
leverage their business and utilize new opportunities within social media to connect with the Hispanic 
market.  All are welcome to learn, understand and support Latinos in the current dynamic social media 
environment. </p>
