PR: Univision Television Stations in Atlanta, Miami and Puerto Rico win 12 Local Emmy Awards

Univision television stations in Atlanta, Miami and Puerto Rico were honored with 12 Emmy® Awards collectively this year. Most recently, at the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Emmy Awards ceremony, Univision’s Miami and Puerto Rico stations together were the most awarded stations. These awards bring the total number of local Emmys won by Univision television stations around the country to 63 for this year alone.

“Univision’s local teams are continuously committed to making sure their communities are informed, echoing Univision’s commitment to empower Hispanics,” said Sandra Thomas, senior director, Local and Affiliate News for Univision News. “We are honored for the latest acknowledgements of our Miami, Atlanta and Puerto Rico stations as they exemplify our stations’ drive and determination to maintain their communities well-informed with relevant news and information.”

Furthermore, this past June, at the Southeast Regional Emmy Awards, presented by The Southeast Chapter of the NATAS, WUVG Univision 34 Atlanta was recognized with two outstanding achievement awards.

NUEVA YORK, NY – 19 DE DICIEMBRE, 2011- Las estaciones de televisión de Univision en Atlanta, Miami y Puerto Rico fueron galardonadas con 12 premios Emmy® colectivamente este año. Recientemente, en la ceremonia de los Premios Emmy del Capitulo Suncoast de la Academia Nacional de Artes de la Televisión y Ciencias (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences o NATAS), las estaciones de Miami y Puerto Rico de Univision conjuntamente fueron las mas premiadas. Con estos premios, el número total de premios Emmy locales ganados por las estaciones de televisión de Univision en todo el país asciende a 63 tan solo este año.

“Los equipos locales de Univision se dedican continuamente a asegurarse de que sus comunidades estén informadas, haciendo eco al compromiso de Univision con aumentar el poder de los hispanos”, dijo Sandra Thomas, directora principal de Noticias Locales y Afiliadas de Univision Noticias. “Es un honor para nosotros recibir los recientes galardones a nuestras estaciones de Miami, Atlanta y Puerto Rico, ya que son muestra del ímpetu y determinación de nuestras estaciones por mantener a sus comunidades muy informadas con noticias e información de relevancia”.

El pasado mes de junio, en los premios Emmy de la región sudoeste otorgados por el Capítulo Sudoeste de NATAS, WUVG Univision 34 Atlanta fue galardonada con dos premios por desempeño sobresaliente.
