Tagged: facebook, HuffPost Latino, latino.foxnews, NBC Latino, social media, Twitter, Univision, webThis is the Part 1 of a look at the landscape. In less than two years four sites have been launched from big media. The rise of English language news aimed at the Latino population in this country has been astounding over the last two years and will only become more crowded as this attractive demographic becomes increasingly important. Here is what has occurred so far including some relevant data now that things are getting competitive.
| (data as of 12/16/2011) | Launched | FaceBook Likes | Twitter Followers | Quancast Traffic |
| Latino FoxNews | 2010 | 37,000 | 8,780 | n/a |
| Huffington Post Latino Voices | 2011 | 2,193 | 3,046 | n/a |
| Univision News Tumblr | 2011 | 1,700 | 26,811 | 6,936 visits/week |
| NBC Latino | 2011 | n/a | n/a | 184 visits/week |
Just to be fair HispanicTips gets 5,256 visits/week according to Quantcast.
I must say that I didn’t know that tumblr sites had any data up on Quantcast but they do.
Part 2???? will work next week
