WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nov. 11, 2011 – Univision Networks, the U.S. Department of State, The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Kauffman Foundation will host Unleashing IdEA, an event that seeks to harness the entrepreneurial spirit of the diaspora communities in the United States. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 14, at IDB headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Speakers will include Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the IDB, Cesar Conde, President of Univision Networks, Carl Schramm, President and CEO of the Kauffman Foundation, Elizabeth Littlefield, President and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and senior State Department Officials.
The event is set to launch the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011, with International diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA) partners highlighting existing initiatives to engage and support diaspora entrepreneurs and investors. Panels will also look at lessons learned from various regional contexts and highlight how aspiring entrepreneurs can access resources.
IdEA is an innovative partnership platform, launched by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at the first-ever Global Diaspora Forum from May 17-19, 2011, to engage diaspora communities, the private sector, and public institutions in a collaborative process.

Semana Empresarial Mundial 2011 inicia con evento sobre sentido empresarial de los latinos, participación de la diáspora mundial en el empresariado y herramientas para empresarios
WASHINGTON, D.C. – 11 noviembre 2011 – Las Cadenas Univision, el Departamento de Estado de Estados Unidos, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (IDB por sus siglas en ingles) y la Fundación Kauffman presentarán Unleashing IdEA, un evento que se propone alentar el sentido empresarial de las comunidades de la diáspora (inmigrantes) en Estados Unidos. El evento tendrá lugar el lunes, 14 de noviembre, en la sede del IDB en Washington, D.C.
Entre los oradores se encuentran Luis Alberto Moreno, presidente del IDB, Cesar Conde, presidente de las Cadenas Univision, Carl Schramm, presidente y director ejecutivo de la Fundación Kauffman, Elizabeth Littlefield, presidenta y directora ejecutiva de la Corporación de Inversión Privada en el Extranjero (Overseas Private Investment Corporation) y altos funcionarios del Departamento de Estado.
El evento dará inicio a la Semana Empresarial Mundial (Global Entrepreneurship Week) del 2011, con socios de la Alianza Internacional para la Participación de la Diáspora (International diaspora Engagement Alliance o IdEA) a fin de destacar iniciativas existentes para promover la participación y apoyar a empresarios e inversionistas inmigrantes (de la diáspora). Los paneles también examinarán las lecciones aprendidas en diferentes contextos regionales y destacarán las formas en que quienes aspiran a ser empresarios pueden obtener acceso a recursos.
IdEA es una innovadora plataforma de colaboración, iniciada por la Secretaria de Estado Hillary Rodham Clinton en el primer Foro Mundial de la Diáspora del 17 al 19 de mayo, 2011, para promover la participación de comunidades de la diáspora, el sector privado e instituciones públicas en el proceso de colaboración.
