Miami, Fl November 11th 2011 Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más and MTV Latin Americas coproduced MTV Unplugged shows featuring Regional Mexican music icons Los Tigres del Norte & Mexican rock artists Zoe nabbed three Latin Grammys at last nights ceremony in Las Vegas. The MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte & Friends won Best Norteño Album, and Música de Fondo: MTV Unplugged Zoe took home two wins including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song for “Labios Rotos”. The MTV Unplugged shows were Executive Produced by Charlie Singer, SVP of Content & Creative for Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más, and Fernando Gaston, SVP of Content and Creative for MTV & VH1 Latin America, with Jesus Lara serving as Executive in Charge of Music and Talent for both productions.

“There are no words that can convey just how proud we are of this very special recording.   We were honored to be the first group to bring Regional Mexican Music to the MTV Unplugged stage, and flattered to be joined by these extremely talented artists that we are blessed to also call our friends,” commented Los Tigres. “Their wonderful performances helped us craft powerful new interpretations of many of our favorite songs – creating an album that captures one of the most memorable nights of our career.” They added.

“The MTV Unplugged show is one of the most enriching experiences of our career. It was a unique and intimate moment among fans and friends that will forever be captured in this amazing special,” commented Zoe.

Tr3s made history with the debut of the first-ever Regional Mexican MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte & Friends album,  which held the #1 spot on iTunes Mexico, and led all Latin music sales on iTunes in the US. From the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the legends of Regional Mexican music took the stage for a larger-than-life performance alongside superstars Juanes, Calle 13s Residente, Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against the Machine/One Day as a Lion), Paulina Rubio, Diego Torres, and Andres Calamaro. The album is currently Platinum in multiple markets.

The Música de Fondo: MTV Unplugged Zoe special premiered in March on MTV Latina America and quickly ranked #1 among females 25-34 years old and #2 among 25-34 year olds in Mexico. Digitally, the show’s premier was the #1 trending-topic in Mexico and #3 around the world, with over 400 tweets per minute. The MTV Unplugged show featured past and new hits including “Labios Rotos”, and special guests Enrique Bunbury and Adrian Dargelos from Babasonicos.
