Latino Leaders Magazine Recognition of businesswoman Lucia Tovar-Matthews for her outstanding achievements as a business leader seeking to improve access to educational resources of Latinos.
Through a four-city tour, Latino Leaders Magazine brings together small groups of emerging and established Latino leaders for its Club Leaders of the Future roundtable event in Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
SAN DIEGO, June 29, 2011 – Lucia Tovar-Matthews, board member for the San Diego Community College District Oversight Committee and executive director of DIÁLOGO, the premiere independent Hispanic public relations firm, was honored by Latino Leaders Magazine for her outstanding achievements as a leader seeking to improve improve access to educational resources of Latinos.
DIÁLOGO works with the University of California San Diego through a special multicultural internship program that Mrs. Matthews developed in 2009. U.C.S.D. students participating in Lucia’s program have won the prestigious Intern of The Year and Academic Intern of the Quarter awards, respectively.
By “Connecting Leaders and Inspiring the Future,” the Club Leaders for the Future initiative has already passed through Miami in February and Los Angeles on June 29, at the W Hotel. Past events have hosted world-renown designer Christian Cota, Moises de la Renta, Jeb Bush Jr. and more than 30 others involved in various industries.
