Phoenix, AZ – We are happy to announce the Tequila Party on Cinco de Mayo 2011. The Tequila Party will be launched in the State of Arizona which is also known as immigration ground zero to Hispanics. The purpose of the Tequila Party tour is to encourage Latinos across the nation to participate in the upcoming 2012 elections.
Politicians have communicated to us loud and clear that Latinos typically do not do well at the polls. It is one of our objectives to change that. We believe the national tour is imperative because Latinos should be encouraged to participate in the early ballot system, and we need to be consistent and better primary election voters, as well as better general election voters.
More recently, we have witnessed a culture clash in Tucson, Arizona over the ethnic studies debate. Increased hate crimes towards Latinos have elevated within the last year all over the nation. One of the goals of the Tequila Party Tour is to counter negative views with positive ones as we celebrate our culture with festivities all over the nation thru November 2nd, 2012.
The Tequila Party will have events free and open to the public, concerts, VIP dinners with special guest speakers. Lionel Sosa, former Hispanic advisor to Ronald Reagan will be our featured guest speaker in the State of Texas. Lionel Sosa produced “The Children of the Revolución” which is a series airing on PBS and it paints immigrants in a positive light. We will feature many more guest speakers, and have sent an invitation to Representative Luis Gutierrez to be our featured speaker in the State of Illinois as we tour Chicago. We applaud Gutierrez for his years of immigration advocacy.
We are excited about the Tequila Party movement and we believe Latino voter registrations will spike before the 2012 general elections.
About the Tequila Party
The Tequila Party Tour is a celebratory national tour where Latinos can celebrate our culture and our growth. We are a movement working towards a massive non-partisan National Latino Get Out the Vote initiative in light of 2012 elections. Our leaders are mobilized in all high Latino populated states positioning themselves to strengthen our ties with all community Latino leaders and organizations who want to participate in this important festive crusade.
