Latino GOP responds to 14th Amendment Committee That Began By Russell Pearce | Somos Republicans

They introduce frivolous laws that must be challenged in United States federal court system and will needlessly cost taxpayers, at the state and federal level, millions of dollars to defend. States and the federal government are already under extreme fiscal distress.
The US statutes on immigration and citizenship were codified by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act, INA, where the details have already been debated and passed by the Senate. Children are guaranteed citizenship by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution (see the Supreme Court’s ruling in U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark.), and it is unlikely that this part of the INA could be successfully changed without another Constitutional amendment because of the Wong Kim Ark Supreme Court precedent.
These lawmakers have both an oath and a duty to protect the Constitution of the United States but they appear to trample the Constitution with these actions as they launch their attacks on American freedoms and the Rights of American-born babies. We, at Somos Republicans, hope to see these lawmakers sanctioned for these actions.
When Pennsylvania State Representative Daryl Metcalf was asked what the estimate of those born of the undocumented immigrants, he could not provide the answer. Instead, he referred the reporter to the Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform (FAIR), an organization founded by John Tanton. According to the Wall Street Journal, Jason Riley states that by Dr. Tanton’s own reckoning, FAIR has received more than $1.5 million from the Pioneer Fund, a white-supremacist outfit devoted to racial purity through eugenics. Board members of FAIR actively promote the sterilization of Third World women for the purposes of reducing U.S. immigration prospects. And if anything disturbs the good doctor more than those Latin American hordes crossing the Rio Grande, it’s the likelihood that most of them are Catholic, or so he once told a Reuters reporter.
Representative Daryl Metcalfe has acknowledged that the Arizona harsh immigration law has been a point of contention; this law has already cost taxpayers $1 million dollars to defend. It is imperative that we recognize the fiscal burdens created by anti-immigrant legislation in many states which are promoted by FAIR, and their attorney, Kris Kobach, who introduced these unconstitutional laws. Lawsuits filed and drafted by attorney, Kris Kobach, have not survived the federal court system, and have needlessly cost taxpayers in states and small communities across the nation millions of dollars.
It is, indeed, unfortunate that these lawmakers have created the 14th Amendment Committee under the guise of “State rights”, when it appears they are increasing governmental intrusion by adding bureaucratic measures that will put a suspicion and the burden of proof on every single American who has a child born in America. This committee while wasting tax payer dollars seeks to place unconstitutional authority in the states over the individual and is another example of bloated government and a direct attack on the Constitution and our individual liberties.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
