8th Annual Premios Fox Sports™ Set for December 14, 2010, Where This Year’s Best Latin American Athletes Will Be Honored

Fox Pan American Sports today announced the eighth edition of Premios Fox Sports will be held on December 14, 2010, and will take place for the second consecutive year at the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Premios Fox Sports™ is the first and only awards program of its kind to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of US Hispanic and Latin American athletes and personalities from the world of sports, both on and off the field. This year’s awards program will be telecast LIVE to more than 39 million households in the United States and Latin America and will bring together the very best in Latin sports and entertainment.

“From the success of the Latin American teams in the FIFA World Cup™ to the historic final of the Copa Santander Libertadores, 2010 has been a year filled with exhilarating moments and outstanding achievements in the world of sports,” said Patrick Ilabaca, Vice President of Business Development for Fox Pan American Sports. “The 8th Annual Premios Fox Sports™ promises to be a memorable show with some unexpected surprises.”

Starting today, fans around the world can show their support for their favorite contestants during the preliminary round of the 2nd Annual Miss Fox Sports™ pageant. This year’s pageant will feature 36 contestants from 12 countries in North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America. The first round of voting will end on October 31, 2010, on which date a semifinalist for each country will be determined based on total votes received online. The second round of voting will then begin on November 18, 2010, and will run through December 14, 2010.

The semifinalists will go on to compete in a LIVE swimsuit and evening gown competition during the eighth edition of Premios Fox Sports™. The winner will be determined by a panel of judges combined with total votes received online and will be awarded a one-year spokesperson contract, $7,500 in cash and prizes, and the opportunity to join Fox Sports’ prestigious team of on-air personalities and commentators.

Returning for the second consecutive year as the official charity of Premios Fox Sports™, the Ganley Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to save lives by raising awareness about depression and suicide in young people. All proceeds from the Premios Fox Sports™ Golf Classic, which precedes the awards show and will take place on December 13, 2010, at Parkland Golf & Country Club, will benefit the Foundation.
