TeleFutura Delivers Record Quarterly Performance in Spanish-Language Primetime Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Tagged: Spanish-language, telefutura, television, UnivisionTeleFutura, one of the largest Spanish-language networks in the U.S. and the ideal entertainment alternative for Hispanics across the nation, announced today it has delivered a record quarterly performance in the first quarter of 2010 during Spanish-language Primetime (M-Su 7-11pm), Broadcast Primetime (M-Sat 8-11pm, Su 7pm-11pm), and Total Day (M-Su 7am–2am) among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Men and Women 18-49. In addition, TeleFutura was Hispanic America’s #2 network in Spanish-language Primetime among Total Viewers 2+, beating Telemundo (1,024,000 vs. 984,000).
TeleFutura was also the #2 Spanish-language network, beating Telemundo, in Total Day (M-Su 7am–2am), Early Morning (M-F 7am-10am), Daytime (M-F 10am-3pm), and Weekend Daytime (Sat, Su 7am-7pm) among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Compared to the first quarter 2009 period, TeleFutura’s First Quarter 2010 Spanish-language Primetime and Total Day audience was up by strong margins, while Telemundo saw audience declines.

- First Quarter 2010 marks TeleFutura’s sixth consecutive quarter (since 3Q 2008) of audience growth during Spanish-language primetime among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

- Thanks to “El Capo” (The Boss) TeleFutura generated a record quarterly performance in the Monday to Friday 7pm-8pm hour during First Quarter 2010 among all key demographics including Total Viewers 2+ (1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (782,000), Adults 18-34 (447,000), Men 18-49 (412,000), Women 18-49 (370,000) and Persons 12-34 (509,000).
- In a head-to-head comparison at 7pm, TeleFutura’s “El Capo” out-delivered Telemundo’s “12 Corazones” by double and triple digit margins during First Quarter 2010 among Total Viewers 2+ (TFN: 1.3 million vs. TEL: 771,000; +66% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TFN: 782,000 vs. TEL: 434,000; +80% Adv.), Adults 18-34 (TFN: 447,000 vs. TEL: 256,000; +75% Adv.), Men 18-49 (TFN: 412,000 vs. TEL: 268,000; +54%), Women 18-49 (TFN: 370,000 vs. TEL: 166,000; +123% Adv.) and Persons 12-34 (TEL: 509,000 vs. TFN: 300,000; +70% Adv.).
- During First Quarter 2010, TeleFutura’s primetime movie block of “Cine De Las Estrellas” (All Star Cinema) delivered a record quarterly performance across all key demographics including Total Viewers 2+ (1.0 million), Adults 18-49 (533,000), Adults 18-34 (313,000), Men 18-49 (318,000), Women 18-49 (215,000) and Persons 12-34 (367,000).
- In the weeknight 10pm hour, TeleFutura’s blockbuster novela “Vecinos” (Neighbors) helped the network generate its highest first quarter audience levels, delivering more Total Viewers 2+ (TFN: 1.2 million vs. TEL: 961,000; +28% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TFN: 759,000 vs. TEL: 581,000; +31% Adv.), Adults 18-34 (TFN: 461,000 vs. TEL: 370,000; +25% Adv.), Men 18-49 (TFN: 421,000 vs. TEL: 284,000; +48% Adv.), Women 18-49 (TFN: 338,000 vs. TEL: 296,000; +14% Adv.) and Persons 12-34 (TFN: 525,000 vs. TEL: 447,000; +17% Adv.) than the combined average of Telemundo’s novela block that aired during 1Q 2010 in the weeknight 10pm hour which included “Victorinos,” “Sin T*T*S No Hay Paraíso” and “¿Dónde Esta Elisa?”
