Tagged: ,

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela today launches a new website – found at venezuela-us.org – aimed at better informing people in the U.S. about contemporary Venezuela, its politics, culture, sports, and history. The new website will also serve to provide important information to the Venezuelan community in the U.S.

The new website includes a wide range of information on Venezuela, from current news to general information and updated statistics and indicators. It also serves to communicate important statements from the Venezuelan government.

Kids also have a section with information specifically written for them under the category “Information about Venezuela.”

In the Common Threads section, the website highlights the many important links that exist between the people of the U.S. and the people of Venezuela, particularly in culture, energy and baseball. The section will also serve as a clearinghouse of information on past and future cultural events, such as the highly acclaimed annual concert series “Venezuelan Sounds,” popular chocolate samplings and tours of the acclaimed Venezuelan Youth Orchestra.

In the News section people in the U.S. can keep updated on current events in Venezuela, including politics, socio-economic trends and energy-related issues.

The Reference Area includes a wealth of information and resources for the press and for researchers looking for official information on political, social and economic issues of interest, including detailed statistics on energy and descriptions of government policies and initiatives in various areas. The Critical Issues section includes fact sheets and context papers on the achievements of Venezuela’s Bolivarian Revolution, including democracy, social development, advances in the fight against drug trafficking, as well as the Venezuela’s official position on important matters in the bilateral relationship, such as the fight against terrorism.

As new issues arise, the website will serve to provide valuable information and context for use by journalists, policymakers, pundits, academics, and students.

The website also has important information on doing business in Venezuela and provides vital consular information for Venezuelans living in the U.S., and Americans seeking to travel to Venezuela, whether for business or pleasure.
