The Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA) is pleased to announce the sponsorship of the 2010 Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC). This year, the SRLC will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana April 8 – 11, 2010.
RNHA National Chairman Alci Maldonado released the following statement, “The RNHA is very proud to be a sponsor of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference. Inasmuch as the SRLC is the largest and most prominent GOP gathering prior to the Republican National Convention, we will gather with fellow Republicans to learn the nuts and bolts of grassroots activism and how we can make the 2010 election cycle the triumphant national election of Republicans to take back the Congress!”
The Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) is a quadrennial event held two years before each Presidential Election. The event unites conservatives from across the South (and the country) with top political leaders, elected officials, candidates, activists and donors. The SRLC has featured every major GOP Presidential candidate since President Ronald Reagan. However, the SRLC is best known for its Presidential Straw Poll, which receives national attention and is generally considered to be the unofficial launch of the Presidential cycle. The RNHA was chartered by the RNC in 1974 during the administration of President Richard M. Nixon and then RNC Chairman George H. W. Bush and is the nation’s leading Republican Hispanic grassroots organization.
