From Feb. 9 to Aug. 9, 2009, only a fraction of all news stories studied contained substantial references to Hispanics — just 645 out of 34,452. And only a tiny number, 57 stories, focused directly on the lives of Hispanics in the U.S – (a shame isn’t it? – but here at HispanicTips I collect, organize 200 to 300 per week)

I have some trouble with this number.  I have been collecting Hispanic news for over four years and while I have always bemoaned the lack of more stories I still manage to collect 200 to 300 stories a week.  No that I am doubting their numbers but there is a lot of news out there and if you don’t believe me try reading even half of what I post.
