New book gives author’s take on increasingly volatile relationship between United States and Mexico – In Wakeup Call From Mexico, first-time author Wilson Beck gives his analysis on how Mexico’s struggles with emigration, drugs, weapons and kidnapping are affecting the American economy and security

The trials and
tribulations of Mexico have made headlines in the United States
recently, says author Wilson Beck. In his new book, Wakeup Call
From Mexico, Beck notes increased violence and problems seen in
Mexico are due to drug wars that are ripping the country apart and
asks how these drug wars will influence America. Author Beck
states that Mexico’s troubles, which have been impacting the United
States for more than two decades, have now taken a turn for the
worse.

Wilson’s book takes a critical look at the factors he believes
caused the cultures of Mexico and the United States to develop so
differently. From the illegal drug, weapons and kidnapping trades
that are now flourishing in Mexico, to the immigration of Mexican
citizens to America, Wilson looks at how the two cultures are
intertwined and outlines a federal plan for responding to any
negative impact its neighbor’s practices may have on the U.S.

“Mexico is teetering on the edge of internal chaos as a result of a
failed economy and the fallout from a $50 billion illegal drug trade,”
Beck says. Beck estimates that as much as one-fifth of Mexico’s
population has illegally crossed into the U.S. looking for work. “The
impact that Mexico’s continuing issues are having on the U.S. is
beginning to stretch and tear at the fabric of American culture from
coast to coast. My book explains the risks and dangers to the U.S.
as a result of Mexico’s struggles as well as insights into how the U.S.
can stem the tide of decline being caused by the problems of a
neighbor nation,” Beck says.

Beck writes Wakeup Call from Mexico for conservatives,
moderates, and liberals who are interested in seeing a drastic
change to the relations between two neighboring countries.
