Maurice Ferre pledges to help bring an end to “poisonous political games in Washington” – Releases second video with details of background and how he will approach the job of U.S. Senator

Maurice Ferre, Democratic candidate for the United States Senate,today released a second web video for his U.S. Senate campaign at www.Ferre2010.com.

“I will help bring an end to the poisonous political games being played in Washington. I understand politics, but once I step onto that Senate floor I will work with Democrats, Republicans and Independents to make a difference for you.”

As he released the video, Ferre said, “”Florida is in trouble and we are not getting our fair share from Washington. Although, Governor Crist embraced President Obama’s stimulus package, Florida is dead last in the allocation of stimulus funds, receiving only about $610 per person. Florida also ranks 45th in education related stimulus dollars so far and 32ndfor health care related spending.  We are also dead last again in infrastructure dollars for transportation, energy and other construction projects. That is outrageous and unacceptable.”

In the video, Ferre first talks about his life and family. He then talks frankly about the philosophy he will bring to his service in the United States Senate.

“One thing I learned in managing business and large government operations is that you have to look for responsibility, judgment, and integrity.

I think those three elements can guide me in my service to you in the United States Senate. I will be responsible to you. I will listen to your concerns. I will carry your voice to the United States Senate.

I will exercise good judgment and never give you cause to question my character. I will work hard and serve you with passion and vigor. I have the integrity to stand up to the special interests. Responsibility. Judgment. Integrity. Your interests first. Those will be my guideposts.

I understand politics. I will try my best to bring an end to the poisonous political games that are now being played in Washington. I understand politics … but once I step onto that Senate floor … I will work with Democrats, Republicans and Independents to make a difference for you.
