The Third Orlando Hispanic Festival (OHFF) delighted local, national and international filmmakers and movie buffs again! The festival took place during Hispanic Heritage Month September 16-20, 2009 at the Plaza Cinema Cafe in Downtown Orlando. Over 70 independent films from over 12 different countries were screened followed by a Q&A from visiting Directors. High profile industry panelists in attendance offered additional insight and educational opportunities to OHFF and Florida Media Market attendees. !

Independent Filmmakers and guest Celebrities Maria Conchita Alonso and Steven Bauer walked the Blue Carpet, in honor of sponsors Jet Blue and Orlando Magic, on Wednesday, Sept. 16th to help kick off the 2009 OHFF.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioner Tony Ortiz and distinguished leaders from Central Florida showed their support to the OHFF which celebrated Hispanic talent in the world of .

A red carpet ceremony on Thursday, September 17, 2009 welcomed a celebratory special 13th anniversary reunion screening of Caught with attending Director Robert Young, Writer Edward Pomerantz and Lead Actress Maria Conchita Alonso. The screening was followed by a Q&A where Lead Actor Edward James Olmos surprised the crowd LIVE via cell phone. In 1996 Caught was nominated for 3 Independent Spirit Awards and made a big splash at Sundance .

The Short Documentary The Edge of The Sea directed by Maria Jose Calderon screened at the Orlando Downtown Orange County Library with Pedro Armenteros from La Prensa Newspaper as Moderator on September 17, 2009.
