Pedro Almodóvar’s much anticipated new film “Broken Embraces” will kick off the 13th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF). Written and directed by Almodóvar, the announcement was made today by co-founder, executive director and programmer, Marlene Dermer. Starring Penélope Cruz, Lluís Homar, Blanca Portillo, José Luis Gómez, Rubén Ochandiano and Tamar Novas, the film will have its West Coast Premiere during the festival’s Opening Night and GABI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala to take place on Sunday, October 11 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA).
