MillerCoors Picks Octavio Hinojosa to Provide Leadership Advice for the Next Generation of Hispanic Leaders

Tagged: ,

“MillerCoors tapped Octavio A. Hinojosa Mier, Executive Director of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI), to participate in its Líderes program, where he will be offering important leadership advice to the next generation of leaders. As part of this year’s program, Líderes searched for leaders within Hispanic organizations who could share their experiences and advice about leadership on a series of web-based podcasts. The podcasts are part of the Líderes goal of fostering leadership at all levels within the Hispanic community and honoring those who have already established themselves as stand-out leaders.

“We are honored that Octavio was selected to be a part of this year’s Líderes podcast series,” said Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (FL-21), Chairman, Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute.

“Through his participation, we hope to provide useful professional development tools for future leaders and be able to stand out for our commitment to the Hispanic community.”

The Líderes podcasts series will offer leadership insight to a wide audience through topics focused on providing tips and advice on various aspects of leadership. The podcast themes, which include job interview tips and how to start your own business, also take into account today’s economic landscape. Past Líderes, including Octavio Hinojosa, will share their experiences and encourage community engagement and business success for up and coming leaders.

“Being able to participate in a program that furthers leadership within the U.S. Hispanic community is a great privilege, especially when it will help young Americans of Hispanic descent become tomorrow’s leaders,” said Octavio A. Hinojosa Mier, CHLI Executive Director and one of the 2008 Líderes featured in this year’s podcast series. “Through this innovative initiative we’re given the chance to guide future generations thereby benefiting the U.S. Hispanic community as a whole.”

The first podcast series is now available on the Líderes website, millercoorslideres.com, and links may be found on the Líderes social media pages on Facebook and Linked-In.

Since 2006, Líderes has raised awareness and highlighted the achievements of a diverse group of respected national and local leaders within the Hispanic community. In past years the program has included a series of workshops held across the country where participants were able to network and explore themes related to leadership.

“Through Líderes, MillerCoors hopes to inspire and develop the next generation of Hispanic leaders, while showcasing those who are taking on leadership roles within their communities,”said Javier Soler, Regional Vice President & General Manager, MillerCoors.
