“Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU) has earned the No. 6 position in the 2009 LATINA Style 50 report ranking the best companies for Latinas to work for in the United States. This is the 12th consecutive year the magazine has recognized Prudential for its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace for Hispanic women.

The LATINA Style 50 are chosen from more than 800 prominent U.S. corporations. The areas of evaluation include: number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent and child care support, employee benefits, women’s issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations.

Hispanic Heritage Network (HHN), a Prudential Business Resource Group, provides networking, mentoring and professional development opportunities for employees throughout the year. For example, HHN sponsors a series of workshops called “Discussion Enables Communication in Relationships,” to help employees learn and practice Spanish in a business context. HHN also hosts professional development workshops and volunteer activities for employees in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. In addition, the group partners with organizations such as the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).
