Nacional Artists Garner Seven MTV Nominations

Nacional Records is proud to announce that its artists have been nominated for 7 MTV Premios. The MTV Premios 2009 will take place on October 15 with broadcasts from multiple cities, including Los Angeles and Bogota. “We are very excited about this year’s nominees,” said Jose Tillan, executive producer. “The MTV Premios display what is popular for Latin America youth and the list of nominees from this year reflect the incredible variety of talent that is relevant for our audience.”

Here is the rundown of Nacional’s nominations:

LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS - Best Rock Artist AND Best Artist In Southern Region

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Premios 2008 and performed two tracks live from Buenos Aires. Watch their latest video for “La Luz Del Ritmo”. The Cadillacs are wrapping up their epic 50 date reunion world tour and plan to release new studio album ‘El Arte De La Elegancia’ later this fall.

PLASTILINA MOSH – Best Alternative Artist

Plastilina Mosh launched the video for their smash hit “Pervert Pop Song” earlier this
year. Watch it here.

ATERCIOPELADOS – Best Artist In Central Region

Aterciopelados continue to tour the globe in support of their critically-acclaimed album ‘Rio.’ They recently traveled to Chicago for the Viva Chicago Latin Music Festival and will launch their first tour of Australia in a couple weeks. Take a look at their latest video “Hijos de Tigre”.

BOMBA ESTEREO – Best New Artist In Central Region

Bomba Estereo was recently named a MTV Tr3s “Descubre And Download” artist. With recent dates ranging from Central Park SummerStage with Calle 13 to the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the group continues to turn heads with their electrifying live show. Bomba Estereo will bring their groundbreaking new album ‘Blow Up’ on tour to Japan this fall and will also return to the states. Watch their new video for “Fuego”.

HELLO SEAHORSE! - Best New Artist In Northern Region AND Zone Award

Hello Seahorse! recently launched their new album ‘Bestia’ with the title track featured as iTunes U.S. and iTunes Latino “Song of the Week,” accumulating several hundred thousand downloads. They are launching their first U.S. tour this fall. Watch the video for “Bestia”.

FIFA 2009 (Featuring Several Nacional Artists) – Best Music In A Videogame

FIFA 2009 featured tracks from four Nacional artists – The Pinker Tones, Señor Flavio, Plastilina Mosh and DJ Bitman – making up the only Latin artists featured in the videogame. EA Sports recently announced that their new FIFA 2010 videogame will feature tracks from another collection of Nacional artists – Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Bomba Estereo, Mexican Institute of Sound and Fidel Nadal.
