J.D. Salazar, SIOR of Champion Realty Advisors, LLC Named Finalist for Latino Professional of the Year in Chicago

Champion Realty Advisors, LLC is pleased to announce that J.D. Salazar, SIOR, managing principal has been selected as one of five finalists for the title of “Latino Professional of the Year” in Chicago, IL.

Salazar was chosen as a finalist due to his outstanding career success coupled with his philanthropic work. J.D. is a 23-year veteran in the commercial real estate industry and has completed over 10 million sf of commercial real estate transactions. In 2007, J.D. was chosen by Chicago United as a distinguished Business Leader of Color based on his overall career achievements, his balanced decision making, a respect for diverse points of view, and varied ways to approach issues. Recently, J.D. was appointed to the CEO Council of Chicago United.

“Being named a finalist for Chicago Latino Professional of the Year is an incredible honor. All the finalists are eminently successful professionals, each a role model for future generations of Spanish speaking American professionals,” stated Salazar.

As an integral part of his community, J.D. has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Chicago Food Depository since 2002, and is past Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. In that role J. D. successfully spearheaded efforts to significantly diversify the Board. He is the President of the University of New Mexico Chicago Alumni Association, a past member of the University of New Mexico’s National Alumni Board, and past member of the Board of Education at Timothy Christian Schools (K-12). J.D. is a 27-year member of Christ Church of Oak Brook where he is a frequent participant in their extensive mission program, having participated in missions to inner city Chicago, rural Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Europe. In 2008, J.D. led a mission to Cairo, Egypt, to assist the Mamma Maggie organization, a Coptic Christian ministry that ministers to Christian and Muslim children living in the massive dumps outside Cairo.
