“The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) will host its 30th Annual National Convention featuring a Latina Summit and Business Expo in Denver, Colorado from September 16-19, 2009. This four-day event will provide educational workshops, town halls, receptions, business matching opportunities and many other resources critical to the continued growth and success of the Hispanic business community, which numbers more than 3 million businesses nationwide.

The Convention will bring together local groups from the great state of Colorado, thousands of Hispanic entrepreneurs, high-level representatives and decision-makers from Corporate America, key political leaders and officials from President Obama’s Administration, and Hispanic Chamber leaders from throughout the nation as the USHCC celebrates the advances made by the Hispanic business community during its three-decade history.

“In ‘Soaring to New Heights, Building the New Economy.’ the USHCC will inaugurate the Latina Summit as part of our 30th anniversary celebration,” said USHCC Chairman of the Board David C. Lizárraga. “I am very grateful for the tremendous support our national organization has received from all sectors of the Colorado community, from local Hispanic business leaders such as the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Latina Chamber, to civic leaders who include Denver Mayor Hickenlooper and Colorado Governor Ritter. In particular, I would like to acknowledge the invaluable contributions made by the Latina Chamber and Linda Alvarado—one of our nation’s most successful and influential businesswomen and Co-Chair of the Latina Summit—and their integral partnership in the launch of this exciting new addition to our Annual Convention that will further empower Latina entrepreneurs.”

The Latina Summit builds upon the USHCC’s comprehensive initiative to provide current and aspiring Latina business owners with access to effective tools, resources and information they need to establish new enterprises as well as to grow and succeed in the competitive global marketplace.

“The Latina Chamber is proud to assist the USHCC in making this event a great success and encourage businesses of all sizes to support it and take part in the convention” said Jessika Aerni, Chair of The Latina Chamber. “This is important for the both the city of Denver and the state of Colorado as our business owners face a tough economy. We need to provide the leadership and skills to help them navigate those challenges, and by collaborating across the community and supporting the convention. We can achieve those goals.”

“Latina entrepreneurs are making a significant impact in our new economy and successfully leading businesses in every market segment and of every size—from small neighborhood ventures to Hispanic 500 businesses,” said Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the USHCC and Latina Summit Co-Chair Elizabeth Vasquez Gallagher. “It is with pride that we join Denver Latina leaders like Linda Alvarado in the effort to bring such an important opportunity to Latinas from throughout the nation as well as those right here in Denver.”

“With the current economic situation, the timing of the national convention is fortunate,” stated Jeff Campos, Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “The DHCC is proud to partner with the USHCC National Convention which is projected to bring six million dollars to the city of Denver.”

The USHCC’s 30th Annual National Convention is made possible with the support of its official Alianza partner, Wells Fargo; its official airline, Southwest Airlines; and its official wireless provider, Sprint. For an updated list of partners and sponsorship information, visit www.ushcc.com. “
