“GALA Hispanic Theatre launched a brand new website, just in time for its 34th season. The redesigned website brings GALA’s cutting edge theatrical style to the internet with an attractive new layout developed by Vicom Studio, that has new navigational tools and easy to use features, including links to its social networking pages and a virtual tour of the GALA Theatre under the dome. The new website will provide accurate and timely information about GALA’s many programs and performances for the Greater Washington, DC and international communities. Please visit us at www.galatheatre.org.

The new website will broaden audiences and extend the reach of GALA’s programs, while facilitating communication between Latin American performers and the vibrant community GALA serves. Like the original website, the redesigned page is completely bilingual and provides information about GALA’s Main Stage Season, GALita Children’s Theatre and the ArteAméricA Presenting Series, in both Spanish and English. The new website also will make purchasing tickets and subscriptions easier thanks to a long-standing partnership with Box Office Tickets. Patrons also will have several easy ways to support GALA by making secure online donations through Catalogue for Philanthropy, Network for Good, or CFCNCA. The bold new website highlights other opportunities at GALA such as volunteering at shows, exhibiting and buying art from one of the lobby displays, renting the space and purchasing advertisement space in a playbill.

GALA website has detailed information about our community and educational outreach materials and programs, such as Paso Nuevo, GALA’s after-school dramatic arts education program, which offers training and performance opportunities for Latino and multicultural youth ages 13 to 18. The web site also offers information about the Student Matinee Program, where students are introduced to the magic of live theater through important dramatic works often overlooked by standard curriculum. Student matinees encourage Latino students to take pride in their native culture and language, while promoting cultural diversity and tolerance among students.

Now situated in its permanent home in the Tivoli Square, GALA’s new home on the web will further its mission as a National Center for Latino Performing Arts. GALA is a participant in the New Generations Program, funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and administered by Theatre Communications Group, the national organization for American theatre. Funds from TCG’s New Generations Program provide partial support for GALA’s website development.
