The free conference begins August 29, 2009, in memory of Ruben Salazar, a prominent Chicano journalist who was killed by L.A. County Sheriff, August 29, 1970. Issues to be discussed include: immigration, affirmative action, vigilante violence, bilingual education and higher
education.Chicanas and Chicanos of all ages are encouraged to sign up and
participate in the conference that will continue for so long as
