ISA TKM TAKES MTV TR3S TO ITS HIGHEST RATINGS EVER

July 2009 was the best month ever among Hispanics 12-34 since MTV Tres’ launch in September 2006.

Friday, August 7, 2009- In the five weeks since its premiere, ISA TKM, MTV Tr3s hit teen telenovela is ranked number two among Hispanic Females ages 12-17 second only to Disney Channel at the 5-6pm time slot. The show increased Tr3s’ Hispanic ratings overall in the 12-34 age group by growing their numbers 120% from a year ago, and increasing their numbers 192% in the 12-34 age range.

ISA TKM, was a global phenomenon even before MTV Tr3s aired its first episode on June 22, 2009.  Written by Venezuelan novelist Mariela Romero and produced entirely in Venezuela, ISA TKM the story centers around a charismatic teenager named Isabella (played by newcomer Maria Gabriela de Faria) who is on the verge of facing her first love, her first kiss and finding out who her real parents are. Isa is a sweet but very imaginative young girl with a talent for music. She falls in love with Alex, a handsome young man that also has a knack for music. Unfortunately, he has a girlfriend, Cristina, Isa’s archrival. Isa enlists the help of her good friend Linda to win the affection of Alex. They get into all sorts of trouble and wacky situations in their attempts to win Alex’s heart. At the same time, Linda, who is bubbly yet self-conscious, has a crush on Rey, one of the most popular guys in school. Rey is conceited with dreams of one day becoming a rock star. He is sneaky in his attempts to fulfill his dreams but in the end is good at heart and sees the inward beauty Linda possesses.

Isa’s María Gabriela de Faría, added: “Everyone will be very excited to meet Isa, a young girl with a very big heart, who will try to win over Alex along with the help of her friend Micaela. We have worked very hard to bring this story to life in the best possible way.”

The characters featured include:

· Isa Given up for adoption at birth, Isa, now 14  years old, has grown into a nice, sweet, and sometimes mischievous young girl. She is a constant daydreamer which sometimes gets her in trouble as she tends to believe her fantasies to be reality. She loves music, a field in which she is destined to succeed. She competes for the love of Alex who also happens to have a girlfriend, Cristina, her biggest rival.

· Alex (Alejandro)- At 15 years old, Alex studies classical music but also likes rock. He is also an only child and, therefore, overprotected by his mother. Alex is handsome, athletic and nice but a bit too serious for his age at times. Isa secretly loves him even though he has a girlfriend, Cristina.

· Linda, Isa’s best friend- Together they find themselves in a series of very funny situations to get Alex’s attention. Linda is charming, sweet, and very mischievous, her only issue is her body image, but she overcomes it by finding beauty in her charm and personality.

· Cristina- A spoiled socialite, Cristina is capricious, shallow, coquettish, and nasty…she is also Alex’s girlfriend and Isa’s biggest rival. She commits the most absurd and mean spirited things to separate Isa from Alex.

· Rey (Reinaldo)- Alex’s rival in music, at school and in almost everything. He’s stuck‐up and it doesn’t help that all the girls love him. His ultimate dream is to become a rock star. Rey stops at nothing to come out on top, even if it means playing dirty. Deep down he’s not a bad egg, he falls in love with Linda.
