Judge Rules in Univision’s Favor in Internet Rights Litigation with Televisa – Televisa Prohibited from Broadcasting Programs over the Internet into the U.S.

“Univision Communications Inc., the nation’s leading Spanish-language media company, today announced that U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez in Los Angeles Federal Court has ruled in Univision’s favor in the Internet rights litigation with Grupo Televisa, S.A.B. Judge Gutierrez’ ruling prohibits Televisa from broadcasting over the Internet in the United States programs it has licensed to Univision under the Program License Agreement. Univision is exploring its legal options in order to provide this content to its audience over the Internet in the U.S. in the future.
