SUN Produces High Energy MANO A MANO Latino MMA Event and Pilot for Broadcast TV

“SUN Sports & Entertainment Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SUNR) completed an incredible live event titled “MANO A MANO,” the company’s Latino-centric Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion at the Mesquite Resistol Arena to the cheers of MMA Fans, sponsors and fighters.

MANO A MANO became the first 100% Latino MMA promotion, held at the Mesquite Resistol Arena on July 12th, 2009, and featured 10 bouts with half ending in the third round and half ending in the first round. In the Main Event, local Dallas hero ALEX “EL TORO” ANDRADE had his hands full with Lubbock native ERIC “BIG HEAD” DAVILA, who opened a cut over Andrade’s right eye in Round 1. Both men stood toe to toe, trading heavy shots, but Andrade wore Davila down with the devastating ground and pound. At 3:22 into the third round, Davila tapped out due to strikes; both men showed the true heart and spirit of MANO A MANO, delighting the fans in attendance.

“The fighters gave it their all and knew how special of a show this was,” said SUN President Clyde Gentry III. “Our broadcast partner Studios 121 did a fantastic job with their high-definition shoot and I believe our hard work has paid off to create a new legacy for SUN as the Latino fan base for this sport continues to blossom.”

In one of the event’s most action-packed fights, Guy Mezger protégé FRANCISCO DEREK CAMPOS faced off against Cuban YOSDENIS CEDENAS, whose flashy footwork took Campos by surprise. Cedenas picked his shots and won Round 1, but Campos’ game plan switched gears, and after a blistering second round, he submitted the Cuban national via rear naked choke 1:55 into Round 3.

After each match, MANO A MANO host KATTY FUENTES the former Miss Mexico 1997 and Miss Universe 1998, interviewed the fighters in sometimes emotional speeches, as was given by Puerto Rican native WILL FLORENTINO who dispatched OSCAR GRANADO by triangle choke just 2:05 into their match.

The MANO A MANO GoGo Girls kept the energy flowing between bouts, and the cameras were rolling countless hours of film leading up to the event as well as all footage shot during and after to offer SUN a large collection of super quality film for their TV pilot. Many broadcast executives from various Latino networks were present to witness the first exclusive Latino themed MMA Event as well as cage side VIPs.

SUN Sponsor Harley-Davidson Dallas stated, they were delighted with the turn out of the crowds, the first rate quality of the event and spectacular production.

The Mesquite Resistol Arena Team rolled out the red carpet for MANO A MANO and plans are underway to return to the venue with ART OF WAR in September 2009.

In a weekend led by another historic MMA Milestone (UFC #100) forecast a projected 1,000,000 Pay-Per-View (PPV) Buys @ $44.95 showing the power of the sports continued growth. Each day new frontiers and opportunities are forged — while first to market has an edge — first to market with a finished product and concept is a winner.
