US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Region V to Host 2nd Annual Hispanic Business to Business Trade Show

“The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Region V will host its 2nd Annual Hispanic Business to Business Trade Fair on Thursday, June 25th, 2009 taking place at the Bank of New York Mellon located at 101 Barclay Street in downtown Manhattan. Based on the success of last year’s inaugural event, which showcased 50 pre- qualified Hispanic-owned businesses and drew over 300 registrants from the public and private sectors, the HB2B committee foresees nearly double the participants for this year.

Buyers and representatives from corporate, City, State and Federal procurement divisions will have the opportunity to once again explore business relationships from a diverse pool of industries. “As a result of exhibiting at this trade show, my company was able to develop a relationship and gain business from a Fortune 500 company,” stated Maria Perez, President of Adventures in Advertising, a promotional products company based in Westchester County, New York. She added “we also established contacts with other companies that we would not have established had we not exhibited.”

Ed Diaz, Trade Show Chair and Chairman of Region V, which includes the states from Maine to Virginia and Washington, D. C., sees the event as an opportunity for Hispanic-owned businesses to connect with one another while taking advantage of the presence of procurement officers from the Fortune 1000 companies as well as those from local, regional and federal government. “This event is the premier showcase for the promotion of Hispanic-owned small businesses,” states Mr. Diaz, “and we are committed to building strategic partnerships by providing a forum for people to effectively network, especially during this difficult economic environment.”

The U.S. Small Business Administration and the New York City Department of Small Business Services will be on hand to discuss The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed by President Obama early this year. The federal and local government agencies will answer questions and provide information regarding available resources for small businesses.
