“The flash of the cameras, the glitz and the glamour associated with feeling like a star are now within reach of consumers at malls around the nation with the State Farm(R) Billboard Latin Music Awards Red Carpet Experience Tour. The tour celebrates the 11th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards presented by State Farm and produced and broadcast live by Telemundo on Thursday, April 23rd, starting at 7:00 p.m. ET, from The BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

Every weekend in March, this national tour will bring audiences in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio the thrill of the red carpet experience and the chance to sign up to win a VIP trip for two to the Billboard Latin Music Awards star-studded show. Winners of the State Farm Billboard Latin Music Awards Red Carpet Experience will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to mingle with top Latino entertainers, including this year’s finalists Flex, Enrique Iglesias, Julieta Venegas, Luis Fonsi, Mana, and others.

During each of these events, consumers will have a chance to strike a pose and show off their individual red carpet flair. Accessories will be provided for dress up and consumers will be given celebrity-style attention by a flock of make-believe ‘paparazzi’. Consumers also will have the opportunity to share the red carpet with a real celebrity, Mexican singer-songwriter Jimena–who has been featured at the top of the Billboard Latin music charts. She will be making appearances at select events in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

Celebrity stylist, Angie Escamilla, who has worked as an image consultant to Billboard Latin Music Award winners and finalists such as Luis Fonsi, Flex and Paulina Rubio, says: “Like any big event in anyone’s life, the red carpet at the Billboard Latin Music Awards is full of excitement and requires a great deal of preparation.”

Escamilla helps clients look their best on their special days and has helped many top Latino entertainers get kudos as best dressed stars at key events. A fashion journalist and stylist, she shares with us her outlook on life: “All of us have lived ‘red carpet’ events in our lives: an important date, our wedding day, the interview for the job of a lifetime, or meeting our significant other’s family: all of them qualify, and it is important to prepare for them.”

Escamilla adds that people should always be ready to shine, regardless of what life may bring, and so consumers can be prepared for these events, she shares a few simple rules:

* Nobody knows you better than yourself: Therefore, you must believe in you
* The way you carry yourself always speaks volumes about you: Always smile, never frown, and stand straight
* Have a plan: Visualize what can go wrong and be ready to tackle it
* Be ready for anything that may come your way: Be mindful of what makes you nervous and look out for that
* Be positive, have confidence and enjoy yourself

Consumers who are interested in participating in this red carpet experience during the State Farm(R) Billboard Latin Music Awards Red Carpet Experience tour can do so on the following dates and locations:

* Miami: Miami International Mall (March 6-8), Dadeland Mall (March 13-15 and 20-22) and Aventura Mall (March 27-29)
* New York: Newport Centre, N.J. (March 6-8 and 13-15), Galleria at White Plains (March 20-22 and 27-29)
* Chicago: Gurnee Mills (March 6-8 and 13-15), Navy Pier Health and Lifestyle Expo (March 20-22), Chicago Latino Book and Latino Festival (March 28-29)
* Los Angeles: Ontario Mills (March 6-8), Del Amo Fashion Center (March 13-15, 20-22 and 27-29)
* Dallas: Irving Mall (March 6-8)
* Houston: The Galleria (March 13-15 and 20-22)
* San Antonio: Ingram Park (March 27-29)

“State Farm is excited to be first-time sponsors of the Billboard Latin Music Awards. This sponsorship gives us an opportunity to engage and interact with consumers in a meaningful way,” said Mark Gibson, assistant vice president of advertising at State Farm.

The winner of this red carpet experience promotion will be awarded two (2) VIP passes to attend the awards show and the official after-party, roundtrip airfare to Miami, ground transportation to and from the show, a weekend stay at a South Beach hotel, a makeover consultation with Escamilla and $500 in cash.

For a chance to win and to view official contest rules, consumers can visit www.premiosbillboard09.com/statefarm.

The 11th Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards will air on Telemundo, on April 23rd starting at 7:00pm ET with the Red Carpet arrivals. The awards show be hosted by Aylin Mujica and Telemundo’s “Levantate” morning show host Alan Tacher. For more information, visit Telemundo.com.”
