In an effort to support the advancement of Latina women and honor their many contributions to society, DIRECTV Mas, DIRECTV’s Spanish and English-language programming service, has joined the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) in celebration of the 18th Annual Latina History Day in Los Angeles.
DIRECTV Mas is sponsoring the day-long conference that began this morning at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
The Latina History Day conference in California draws over 600 women to celebrate the historic accomplishments of Latinas and participate in forums on corporate advancement, the state of public education, and financial empowerment.
“DIRECTV Mas is committed to celebrating the contributions that Latinas make on a daily basis that have had a lasting and valuable impact on our communities and society as a whole,” said John de Armas, vice president of WorldDirect Inc. “We are extremely proud of the many positive portrayals of Latinas on the Mas programming platform from all across the Americas, and we are proud to support HOPE in their continued effort to uplift Latinas everywhere.”
Scheduled annually on the second Friday of March, Latina History Day is the only conference in Los Angeles that is designed specifically to meet the needs of Latina professionals; offering her resources, skills development, and networking opportunities to advance her career.
