Juniper Content Corporation’s (OTC Bulletin Board: JNPC; “Juniper”) Sorpresa!, America’s fastest-growing Spanish-language children’s network, will premiere its 60-minute live-action original special Juega Como un MLS Pro, the climax of the network’s seven-month initiative with Major League Soccer, on Sunday, December 7th at 7 PM EST.
The multifaceted program promotes healthy habits and features one-on-one interviews between Sorpresa!’s Major League Soccer (MLS) sideline reporterito, 15-year-old Leily Sanchez, and some of the sport’s most popular players, including Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Jorge Flores, who teach viewers essential soccer skills and the importance of staying active. The docureality special also follows 15-year-old Nathali, 9-year-old Sebastian, and 7-year-old Simon — avid soccer players who aspire to play professionally — while they practice, and includes helpful tips from nutritional and sports medicine experts.
“Juega Como un MLS Pro offers Sorpresa! viewers exclusive access to Major League Soccer’s talented and inspiring athletes who, through their discipline and sportsmanship, provide positive role models for today’s youth,” stated Maria Badillo, Senior Vice President of Programming for Sorpresa!. “Sorpresa!’s unique partnership with Major League Soccer showcases our commitment to offering innovative and culturally relevant Spanish-language children’s programming.”
Juega Como un MLS Pro also highlights the importance of family involvement in training for success, and incorporates footage from Sorpresa!’s presence at MLS Futbolito in Los Angeles, the 2008 Pepsi MLS All-Star Game, MLS Verano in Dallas, and the 2008 MLS Cup.
The special will be rebroadcast on Sunday, December 21st at 7 PM EST as part of Sorpresa!’s Countdown to Christmas.
